Hello, I'm going in circles in my attempt to create a new database for 2025. I want to recreate the 2024 version with a few modification. I'm not finding routes to do this properly. I can create row or columns but not both. It very comes out right. I've tried creating a new file and down loading, but don't know how to changed the file for the system to re-import it. Good morning, wanting to remove a group of my property I followed the instructions I found on your site, that is, I entered the group that I would like to delete whose owner is only me. I have removed the registration of all members of the group. I went to the Settings by going to the bottom of the page I clicked the 'Delete group' field, but I did not receive the notice that the group has been (or will be deleted) and is still active. Where did I go wrong? Thanking you for any response. Dario

I've one user that seems to be utilizing all the bandwidth in the group. So much that another list owner is considering quitting the group. There is a mostly silent owner and two fairly active owners. Is there a method to direct all a user's posts to his personal topic? At least that way other users could mute or unfollow that topic. Another method that would be possible, but that would require a highly active moderator, that is "Override: moderated" for that user. That would mean active moderation and long post lags. What happened to the option to have membership pay groups.io directly?

Last year groups.io sent a message to all owners that there was a new way to pay for the subscriptions, that is, users would pay the group directly, or some such plan, to eliminate me, as a group ower frrom having to collect the funds. Filters in databases

Currently there are no options to filter in databases, one can only search, as far as I know. It would be nice if this feature would be added, so you could filter for instance on one of the columns. Is this something others would be interested in as well? If so, would the developers be open to that? I have no experience in how this would normally work so excuse me if this is not an appropriate question. Best, Winnie

adding a comment to a poll response

Is there any way I can get a user to include a comment with a poll - in addition to just checking off their choices - give more information I was thinking of sending the poll in an email and have the comment being included in the reply to the email in addition to answering the poll but not sure it would work. Has any one tried to do this? Thanks!

Deleting old attachments in a free group

Hi - I have hunted in vain today to find where the Attchments are listed so that I can delete ones that are years old as my group reaches it's limit. Since we are free we have the 1 G limitation. Members of the group know that we need to trim the attachments and have downloaded any that they wished to save. I looked in the Member's manual and the instructions there listed a method but the correct path was not there. I searched every other possible area that I could find but could not find anyplace that listed the attachments so I could delete them manually. I did find that I could go to the very oldest conversations to find and delete a single message at a time. Then I was immediately returned to the very newest message page. With thousands of emails to plow through this is tedious beyond belief. There must be a better way. Thanks for any help. Judi

I spotted a smattering of messages here about the increasing number of spams we're getting as Owners (about six a day). Besides blocking at my e-mail server level, is Groups.io doing anything to stop the spam? Anyone know if Mark's aware of the issue? Some time ago I migrated all of my owned groups to groups.io from google groups. A new group I created recently I have spent enormous hours on this trying all kinds of settings to get a gmail forward to work to no avail. I created and own a group /g/p7j3q9k5 in order to distribute email from my 95 year old mother who has great difficulty using the computer. I created her [email protected] membership using her gmail mhcgfx1b9j@... I then set her groups.io setting to NOT receive any email from the group. Because it is intended to be only one way from her to group members AND to not create a forwarding loop. I have done this many times before with other groups. Next I go to her gmail account settings and select forward to the group [email protected] I auhorize with her gmail associated phone. What happens next is groups.io rejects the gmail-sent confirmation email reporting one of the following two errors: 1. 510 5.1.1 Your email address, mhcgfx1b9j+caf_=p7j3q9k5=groups.io@..., is not subscribed to that group. To subscribe, send an email to [email protected], or visit /g/p7j3q9k5 or 2. 510 5.1.1 Your email address, forwarding-noreply@..., is not subscribed to that group. To subscribe, send an email to [email protected], or visit /g/p7j3q9k5 One has no control over what gmail sends when one requests to do a forward! Also, I have a number of groups.io groups whereby I have used gmail addresses to be forwarded to groups.io!! BUT this was done some time ago yet ALL are still working!! The above 2 errors happened under different circumstances while attempting to get the gmail to forward. The first was the initial attempt. That was AFTER gmail accepted the initial request to forward to [email protected]. gmail was happy. EXCEPT when an email came in to mhcgfx1b9j@... it would perform the forward to [email protected] BUT it would use the "decorated" email mhcgfx1b9j+caf_@... which subsequently groups.io would reject because mhcgfx1b9j was the member and NOT mhcgfx1b9j+caf_ !!! The second was just now where I deleted the gmail forward and attempted to re-establish the SAME forward. This time gmail used the strange address forwarding-noreply@... which also is not a member. How did gmail forwarding to groups.io EVER work? Did gmail change something recently that broke this? I have attached a screenshot showing a number of log entries pertaining to both of these conditions. I am at Witt's End to make what should be a trivial gmail forward to groups.io work for my elderly mother! Also, I have found almost NOTHING on vast web searches on this topic! I previously sent a help question about lock and unlock topic. In hunting around I found the answer. But, also... in hunting around, I'm the owner of our group, the messages appeared with their attached photos, images, and attachments running down the right side. I LOVE IT! It disappeared. What? How? Can I get that feature back? Thanks!

Every day at about the same time, plus or minus two or three minutes, I get a "your group is bouncing" message from groups.io. The number of rows varies. Today it was fifty messages in three hours. All the rows in the table look like this: 5.0.0 smtp; 552 5.2.2 <bistrack@...>: Recipient address rejected: Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full) What mailbox? Certainly not mine--I know this for a provable fact. So then, what is orepack.com and what connection do they have to either me or groups.io? And another interesting thing--this only happens on one of my two email addresses that have email lists on groups.io. What's going on, and how can I stop it from happening every day?

One of my moderators needs help! She can't post anymore to the group after we close it on weekends.

This is what my moderator sent to me, below. Yes, she is listed as a moderator as "Posting always allowed". Please help me help her!! She states her problem in four steps: 1) I used to be able to respond to posts after the group closed on Saturdays for our two day break, and the response would go to group. 2) But for many months now, I haven¡¯t been able to respond to the group! 3) Instead, it will only respond as a "private message", which then starts a conversation through my private email. 4) I¡¯m not trying to private message!! It's the only option available, and I can't find anything in settings that would change it. HOW as owner do I help undo this problem she has as a moderator??

I post a Group called [email protected] where I list astronomy-related events in the SF Bay Area for interested locals to see what is going on. Over the last month and one other time before, pictures I have been posting to individual listings to serve as topic labels have ended up taken off the listings and piled up at the end of the whole message. Seems like a bug in Groups.io and wonder what to do about it. Can Groups.io correct the problem? Ken Lum ============================
