Just editing the message will claim it. You don't necessarily need to save it afterwards.

There is no need to actually edit the message, just clicking [Edit] and then [Cancel] will claim it for you.

I did ask for a [Claim] button - there is one somewhere else, on a pending membership IIRC - but it has never appeared.

How to claim a pending message #howto

Is there a way to claim a message pending approval?
I an dealing with a problematic message and I wanted to claim it as you can do with pending members. However, it seems that you can either approve, edit, reject or delete a message but not claim it.
Is it so?

Thank you for your help.
Have a nice Sunday,

Not necessarily.? If a person is "unmoderate after x messages" and hasn't reached their quota, you can change the group to moderate all messages and back without changing the number they need to have approved (though any of theirs approved would reduce their count needed).? If new members join, they wouldn't have to get messages approved if you turn off NMM while the moderate all messages is in force, but you can have all messages moderated and also have NMM.? It gets very confusing very quickly with all the options that we've got!

Yes, what else would you expect to happen when switching from 'moderate everything' to 'only moderate new members'?

Only what's in the manual, /helpcenter/membersmanual/1/working-with-calendars/adding-calendar-events and /helpcenter/membersmanual/1/working-with-calendars/using-the-rsvp-feature.? If you have a Legacy Basic group, I think you'll already have all the features available.

By "custom tags" I was referring to the ability to add custom key/value pairs to a calendar entry, which would then show up when someone views it, for instance novel fields like "Organizer Fax", "Event Type", "Event Sponsor", etc.
Most, if not all, of that could be put in the Event Information Panel.? If you use RSVP, you can also include a request for additional information from attendees when they are filling in the RSVP form.

Hi Bruce,

The RSVP doesn't look like the right thing, but thanks for pointing it out.? Is there a guide to any other calendar features you get after upgrading to premium?

Re: apparent blacklisting iiNet

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

After MANY emails and phonecalls to iiNet support, yesterday I had a LONG chat with yet another tech support after I had sent an email, subject line COMPLAINT.
I was told that iiNet itself doesn't block email and they don't have a blacklist nor a whitelist. He said that they have a "backserver" (I think he called it that but I didn't make a note of the name) which decides which domains to block. When I asked for an email address to contact them, he said that they don't have any physical contact (I told him that was a lot of b*s*).
What I am trying to find out is EXACTLY what was done to get the mail flowing again, so I know what to ask for if/when it happens again.
I'm afraid that he was really annoyed with me when I kept insisting on getting the information. Probably to fob me off, he said he would pass on my request to another department and they would contact me. When I asked when that would be, he said 24 to 48 hours !! That was 24 hours ago and nothing yet.... still waiting.
I would advise all iiNet customers to look in their Tasks to see what has been written after phone contact.
Go to your account page, you should see, in red, "you have an open task", then click on that. Now click on "view" beside the open Task.
I just checked the writeup about yesterdays phone call, and a lot of incorrect information has been written, about how I had accepted that the problem was fixed and that I was happy with iiNet and wanted to continue with them. None of that was discussed at all.
I'm currently writing up a document detailing all the dates, times and details of contacts, and copying the responses in the Tasks pane. iiNet has a nasty little habit of deleting any comments older than 2 weeks, luckily I had made notes on a pad of paper...
What really annoys me is that I am being treated like an idiot and that I don't need to know anything more than they choose to tell me.
If I get any further response about what has been done, I'll let you know.

Hello

Email from my groups.io list to members with an @iinet.net.au address appear to be being blacklisted.? The following bounce message is being sent from iiNet:

?

Failed - 554 icp-osb-irony-in3.iinet.net.au Your access to this mail system from 66.175.222.12 has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. If you believe that this failure is in error, please contact the intended recipient via alternate means.

I have advised the recipient to contact iiNet to rectify this (but knowing how this can be a nightmare to change, since these blacklists are automated).

Is it possible to add custom tags to calendar entries?

Our group uses calendar entries to coordinate volunteering events, but there are some metadata we would like to require people to add.? They could just enter it in the description somewhere -- if they remember -- but I know that some calendar apps allow you to attach custom tags or custom fields to events, I was wondering if that was an option here.

You might want to put those who posted content you don't approve of on permanent
moderation. However, if they post frequently, you'll be doing a lot of reviewing
odf pending posts from them.

There is no option to do that. Given that many, if not all, of your members may have received a copy of existing messages by email. I'm not sure what hiding it would achieve. If you wish to stop people adding to an existing topic then you can lock it.
