Hi

This will set the limit, but where do I define the distance the router will lift from the workpiece when moving during the form one location to the next. Because I set my Z-Zero on top of my table and not the top of the workpiece.? As I said earlier. Currently my spindle lift about a clearance of 80mm above the workpiece, leaving only 2mm till maximum z- travel limit.

CNC Multi Axe Saw Machine

I had a quick play with Photoshop yesterday to create the multi-axes machine in my head.

It¡¯s a bit disjointed as I couldn¡¯t compute what it would do.

It¡¯s not a representation of Tom, but just a guy I thought would like axes.

Tom, if you like beer and ever do visit me, you¡¯re in for a treat. I live in Yorkshire and we have many fine breweries.

In the end I concluded such a machine must make wooden dragons...

Re: Latest versions of Mach4

Thanks Art,
?I tried removing plugins and it did the same thing. so I figured out it must be something in my screen set. and what I came up with is that I used a toggle button for my spindle. guess I don't really know the why's and whatfor's of a on button as apposed to a toggle button.

Thanks
Dave

Rapid Safe Z

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Guys

I need help.

I use manual tool change with tool change script with touch off for me to calculate Tool Length offset. With the first tool change executed in my code ¨C it is not a problem. Because the spindle is usually at the position where I manually define to do the tool change.

?

Than After the tool change the spindle start and travels to where it needs to cut. What I do noticed is this safe Z distance is quite large (about 80mm). and my maximum z-travel is 82mm. So once the cut is complete and the next tool change is initiated, the spindle stops and the machine then trigger the z-limit switch.

?

Where do I define or need to change the safe z-offset?

?

Andre

i had not tried this one on win 8.1. i just did. so far it looks useable. after i discovered that rectangular selection of multiple elements is possible if and only if i drag the selection rectangle from lower right to upper left, i can do major deletions and moves.

it actually shows the screen as it looks in mach3 not a mess of overlapping elements as in other editors.

GREAT!!! IT? LOOKS LIKE I CAN FINALLY EDIT THE SCREENS!!!! THANKS FOR GETTING ME TO TRY THIS ONE AGAIN. AS I RECALL, IT WAS NOT USEABLE WITH A LOWER RES SCREEN.

Re: screen editor

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

a couple more questions about screen editing. when i create a button in mach3screen i do not see where i can add code to a button etc. in mach3 using operator edit button script, there are only a very few buttons that flash showing that they can be edited. the button i added is not included. i was able to edit one of the buttons that was available for editing so i know i can add VB script successfully but not to the new button i created or to most of the others.

Hello all,

?I'm having a problem with the latest versions of Mach4(after 2157) where I hit my spindle button and the button gets kinda fuzzy on the screen and locks up Mach4 and then comes the blue screen of death and the computer will not reboot... I have to pull the hard drive put in on another computer and run CHKSDK and then put it back in and it will boot to windows XP again. Anyone else having any kind of problems like this?

Thanks

Yes, I would like to move stepper manually for now, just to see how often it?will be used, because of different saw blade diameters. I don't need DRO for now, I'll wait for the future needs and then convert it into active axis if necessary.

Re: Proximity switch / Limit switch help needed

Any good direct-acting industrial switch will be good enough for hobby use.
Ie a switch with a atraight plunger.
Accuracies should be around 0.01 mm range.

I dont like lever switches, because
-they trap dirt and swarf and get full of stuff, break and can get shorts
-they are inaccurate due to lever arm bending (so they dont repeat well)

I dont like microswitches (the small cheap less than matchbox sized) for the same reasons are lever switches.

Optical limits switches are the most accurate, ime.
Using a hw board, i measured 1-3 microns repeability with the first tests. Sw filtering could get this down to <=2 microns.

Run cables that are armoured, or in protected spaces, or inside a plastic cover.
Use normally closed switches.

Optionally:
24V dc will keep contacts cleaner and is the industry norm.
It wont work directly with the board mentioned.
I am not a fan of relays in limits (reliability), or home switches (reliability, accuracy).

I think you only have few inputs, so need to link the switches to use as few inputs as possible.
See the docs and board for samples.

Any advice on this subject would be great.

Proximity switch / Limit switch help needed

I am using Mach3 and I have updated the X axis to a dual acme setup.

I have X and A setup as a SLAVE and all is good so far.

To keep the Gantry square, (I think) I need to add a limit switch to each side.

Once setup I will HOME the axis to be sure it is square.

I am not sure what is best to use as I cut all types of material.

But, I think I need more than simple snap switches because of the sometimes dusty cutting conditions.
