Hi, ooh!

Mixing ground flax seed with honey(linomel) would allow you to keep it
around till it was time for you to eat it without the flax seed losing
potency due to oxidation. And you could take cottage cheese and flax
oil in a cooler/thermos box, along with a Braun battery-operated
blender and make up the mixture in the break room on the job.

Fasting while travelling

To Ken
I also moved last year and drove straight through for over 20 hours with a
break at night. It is very fatigueing, and especially if you have a health
challenge, I would not recommend fasting while you are doing it. If you bring a
cooler with you I dont see why you couldnt have healthy food and FS/CC on the
way. Prepare as much ahead as you can and package it in portions. As for juice,
you can put some in a thermos bottle, and also use powdered green drinks. You
will want to keep your strength and energy up for the drive. Also, many fasting
plans require enemas and they sure would not be easy on the road!
Fast after you get moved in, as part of clearing out your old life!

Subject: Fasting while travelling?

I am moving from Montreal to Alberta which is a very long drive.? I
will be sleeping and driving straight through and I was wondering if
anyone has any ideas on how to best accomplish this.? I have been
considering doing some sort of fast for the duration of the trip.? My
thinking is that since I have not done any type of detox and it will
be too complicated to the fo/cc or fresh juices, it would be a good
opportunity to try something else for a few days.?

Any ideas on what is a good cleansing fast?? I was thinking about the
three day apple fast but I am open to any good ideas.

Re: cabbage

Carolyn,

I am certainly no expert, but from what I know, and I guess from common
sense, I would say that with regard to anti-cancer properties, cabbage
juice might be best because of better digestibility---better
availability of phytochemicals, etc. Then would come raw cabbage, as
well-chewed as possible, and then cabbage soup, which, because it is
cooked, would have the least amount of good stuff in it. It could be
that it's a toss-up between raw cabbage, well-chewed, which would be
better for the digestive tract and the bowels, and cabbage juice.
Certainly it appears Dr. Budwig put sauerkraut juice first.

Thank you to everyone for your replies and your personal
stories/questions/answers on this topic - I truly have learned a lot.
I will keep you updated on the my brother's status. Today is his
third day using the flaxoil and cottage cheese - he's been taking a
total of 6 tbsp. a day, and we have also been massaging him (mostly
his left hands and legs - which were affected by paralysis) with the
flaxoil as well.

substitutes for cottage cheese

Hi! I am 36 and in chemo for breast cancer and very scared going
forward. I can embrace much of what I have read about Dr. Budwig's
protocol except I am scared to eat dairy products. I have been good
about the flax oil, but I have always been good about getting good
oils and having a reasonably good organic vegetable rich diet.

I was diagnosed while nursing my son and had nodal involvement. As
the chemo draws to an end (thank goodness) I am realizing I don't
want to do radiation or have a bilateral mastectomy. I want to beat
this and be extremely agressive, I just don't want to be messed with
anymore surgeons and machines.

so anyhow -since i was nursing when diagnosed too, i have
really developed a fear of milk and dairy products, which, organic
or not are ruined in processing and full of cow hormones.

I REALLY REALLY want to be oxygenated. are there substitutes for the
cottage cheese? Is the flaxseed oil in he fridge section at Whole
Foods adequate?

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Are all forms of cabbage equally effective? Cabbage juice......cabbage
SOUP.........chopped raw cabbage?

If you have a long drive, you want to remain alert and have clear
thinking and fast reactions. Eat what will keep your mind sharp. For
me, it is nuts or something high in protein.

Re: Linomel---Syd, since Wilhelm says that linomel is sold in stores where

he lives, it appears that linomel will keep a good, long time---several
months, at least, I should think.

Re: Budwig Diet and work--LaGuerita---

Hi, LaGuerita!

I personally don't think there is much difference between soured
cabbage and sauerkraut. I think one is as good as the other.

With regard to foods for depression, if you do a search under "foods to
heal depression" you will find lots of good information there.

Something else, LaGuerita---

Your husband MUST stop dwelling on the past, and on what he can no
longer change or control. The things you mentioned are over and done
with. The only thing thinking about them will do for your husband is to
make his heart and spirit sore. Suggest to him that when he feels such
thoughts coming into his head to stop them immediately, and to think of
good, happy, optimistic things he DOES have control over right NOW in
the present.

Truly, it may do your husband more good to practice good mental hygeine
than it will to try to seek out foods for depression. But there would
be no harm in doing both. The mind is like a garden. One must pluck out
the weeds(injurious, destructive thoughts)as soon as they appear, and
nourish and grow the flowers(beneficial, healthful, uplifting thoughts.)

Blessed wishes,

Elliot

There has been much research on cabbage, and it shows significant
evidence that cabbage has strong anti-cancer properties. Do a search
under "cabbage cancer" and you will turn up a wealth of information and
evidence.

Re: How much FO/CC?

breathedeepnow

Hi, Carol.

To the best of my knowledge, a person with active cancer can take as
much as 8 tablespoons flax oil a day. Two a day is low. May I suggest
you pick up a copy of Dr. Budwig's "Oil Protein Cookbook?" It is
available very reasonably at either www.half.com or at
www.barleans.com. Cost should be less than 10 dollars including
shipping and handling. It contains a wealth of information and over 500
recipes. I have come to feel it is indispensible to someone seriously
interested in following the Budwig diet.

Thanks Carol.

You wouldn't happen to know how long linomel keeps would you?

From: "Carol R." <carolroars@...>

In one of my books it says the ratio of flax seed to honey is 6 to 1.

I'm not sure if using chocolate as part of your recipe is such a good
idea, since Dr. Budwig's diet says no caffeine. There is a cocoa
powder you can buy that is 99% caffeine free. It's called Wonder Cocoa
and I get it online at The Better Health Store at this link.

Some health food stores carry it too.

Thank you Elliot. I know it could be better, is easier to read than to write.

I have two question. First one is what is the difference to take the sourkrout juice and sour cabbage juice? I make the sourkrout juice from direction Mr. Bob Smith was so kind in send to me.
I see one have sea salt other do not. which is the better? Also I read need to make with distil water? I make it with bottle water, is ok with bottle water?
My second question is, do you or anyone in list knows foods that help with the depression? Is no for me, but me husband. he is doing good physical way, but is depress from when he was diagnose. I think he need to be in the sun more, but is difficult with the work. I tell him, to be outside for part of his lunch time. But I think with the clothes on doesn't work. I think he feel depress because feel guilty to be sick, for me, because we are too young, to just start the life together, mabye feel bad for not to take care of his body when he was child, and he feel bad for me. The mexican food, is taste too good, but in last years, we adopt too many things not so good, too many sodas and process food.

Re: Albert Szent-Gy?rgyi

Also note the 'yellow enzyme' referenced in the web page - Budwig
witnessed this? As well as vitamins required = Budwig's use of
nutritional yeast.

Rick
Yes Rick, thats a great observation!!

I wonder if anyone has done any analysis on the true Budwig's diet,
i.e. what is the yeast's purpose in the diet, what is saured cabbage
juice's purpose in the diet, etc.... That would be very interesting!
I wish I were a chemist then I could explore more...

portalbility of diet

well it is a pain to take all this on the road but going thru chemo
takes a lot out of you too so I just keep reminding myself that I do
not like the two alternatives which I will leave to your
imagination as most of you know the sufferings of other cancer
patients.I read somewhere that you can attach small jars to
Osterizer blenders so I attach my Kava coffee jars, some peanut
butter and mayo jars work also. You can take them with you and then
mix wherever you go. I take the whole contraption to my friend's and
daughter's house.I need a battery operated Braun I guess and a
battery operated coffee bean grinder.Good thing I have a battery
charger!!I put fruit in my morning one and DiJon or reg mustard in
the lunch one with a salad. It is the dinner and snacks I have
trouble with. I lost weight last time as I could not find anything
organic to eat but fruit!!I do eat nuts but now I read they are old
even from Whole Foods. I will have to check into that!!!The
squirrels in the neighborhood may have to start watching out!!
I have a funny story about Kimchee. I was new to LA and managed a
100 unit building when I started smeling the most awful rotting
garbage smell. My building had garbage bins with slides from all
three floors. I thought one was stopped up so I was searching
throughout until we found out my Korean tenants were fermenting
Kimchee on the roof and also small potatoes. They offered me some and
to be polite I tried it. Whew! it was really spicy hot and cleared
my sinuses- I am sure it is diluted a bit when you eat rice with it
but you have to be brave to use it!! I am sure it would work but I
am using a probiotic with FOS instead. I think my mom would ask me
leave if I fermented stuff here!!I already have taken over the
refrigerator and the kitchen with all my food and gadgets.
