Hi, LaGuerita!
I personally don't think there is much difference between soured
cabbage and sauerkraut. I think one is as good as the other.
With regard to foods for depression, if you do a search under "foods to
heal depression" you will find lots of good information there.
Something else, LaGuerita---
Your husband MUST stop dwelling on the past, and on what he can no
longer change or control. The things you mentioned are over and done
with. The only thing thinking about them will do for your husband is to
make his heart and spirit sore. Suggest to him that when he feels such
thoughts coming into his head to stop them immediately, and to think of
good, happy, optimistic things he DOES have control over right NOW in
the present.
Truly, it may do your husband more good to practice good mental hygeine
than it will to try to seek out foods for depression. But there would
be no harm in doing both. The mind is like a garden. One must pluck out
the weeds(injurious, destructive thoughts)as soon as they appear, and
nourish and grow the flowers(beneficial, healthful, uplifting thoughts.)
Blessed wishes,
Elliot
