FaceTime. Audio?+ video. Of course all participants need to be using Apple devices. Re: External SSD?
Howdy
I like OWC. They honor their warranties. They have good tech support. They have good prices. Their external drive cases/enclosures are excellent. I've bought a number of things from OWC and only had a problem with a defective Pioneer DVD burner (internal) and OWC replaced it with no questions asked and even cross shipped. Cross shipping means they shipped the replacement to me and when I received it I used the same box and shipped the defective one back with a no cost shopping label from OWC. I would like to purchase an external SSD for my new 16" MBP, for running VMs?(Virtual Machines). ? I have no experience with *this* drive, but I have gotten many things from OWC, including a half-dozen drives, a Thunderbolt 4-drive external case, a Thunderbolt 2-drive external case, and 2 different USB-3 cases for the drive removed from my machine when I upgraded the internal. ALL of these have been flawless, with excellent responsiveness from OWC to any questions I had. The 4 drive box was in my house for the house fire. No fire/heat damage where it was, but it was soaked by fire hoses and then frozen. When I finally got it out, I had trouble getting it open to take the drives out (which OWC helped with). Eventually I got everything apart, cleaned, dried – and both the drives and the box with its controllers and wiring worked fine. I still have it but tend to not use it for anything critical. |

Re: Does anyone use Bear?
One app you might consider is Drafts. It is free and extremely powerful plus has an option to dictate to Text. I find it extremely useful to create a first or other day of an email or a document or a list. The idea behind it is to allow to to create and then copy and paste into Word, Pages, an email, a list app etc.?
?
On an iPad with split screen it works great.?
?
The ductal function is amazing. Because the information for dictation likely goes over a server you have to modify what you say if your clients (in my case) are concerned with privilege or confidentiality. But then you just used a generic name and change it after the dictation is done and inserted.?

The ones that are “on my Mac” are only on the Mac and they don’t get synced. If you want them to sync they have to be on iCloud also. Dave |

Notes is *very* flexible. Text, images, tables, just?add what you want. This is for 10.15 but I don't think it's changed much recently. <> You can also password-protect notes. Otto On Sun, 15 Mar 2020 at 02:01, Daniel Settles <denver1.dan1@...> wrote: Howdy |

Thanks, Daniel. I also use Notes almost daily. But I have always been frustrated by its limiting formatting. My graphics design background cringes.

It is a very useful app and integrates with everything Mac and is free, so I do appreciate it. But when I saw the Bear interface, I got excited by the possibility of having all the functionality of Notes with a beautiful interface as well. I will have to look into the free version of Bear and see how it compares to Notes and then give feedback to the group of what I learned. – Karen On Mar 14, 2020, at 10:01 PM, Daniel Settles <denver1.dan1@...> wrote: |
