Contacts not syncing
How can I get my contacts on the Mac to sync to my iPhone and iPads? Both iPhone and iPads are newest, everything running the must up-to-date OS.
I put a contact in on my Mac, then went to update it on my phone later in the day and it wasn¡¯t even there. So I checked my Mac, and lots of contacts weren¡¯t in the phone. Thanks for any suggestions. Carol |

Re: any recommendations for mac-friendly dream journaling app?
I ordered the Rocketbook Everlast Mini, which arrived today. I'm somewhat disappointed. For ?15.99 I got an A6 notepad with 23 double-sided white plastic pages, a Pilot Frixion pen, and a small towel. The pages?look like paper and feel like paper to write?on with the Frixion pen. The iOS app is a free install and you set it up to use the camera and to send your notes to your?chosen destination. After you've written or drawn?what you want, you use the app to scan to PDF. This is then simply sent to your destination.? All I saw was a PDF image of what I had written. I expected OCR by default?but I had to enable it in Settings. This works well, so why is it not the default? You dampen the towel to wipe/erase the pages for reuse and I imagine you could reuse the pages many, many times before wearing?them out. I'm not sure what?I expected, but I thought it would be something more hi-tech, not a write-then-scan process. To call it a Digital Notebook is nonsense IMO. At the moment I'd not sure it's worth keeping. For ? the price it would be worth it for the reusable notebook, but for ?16! Otto On Sun, 8 Mar 2020 at 12:11, Otto Nikolaus <otto.nikolaus@...> wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHave you tried rebuilding mailboxes? Choose a mailbox, then the bottom of the Mailbox menu. I don¡¯t know if you can do many at once, but try it one at a time.

Re: Will turning on Fileault mess up Time Machine
Thanks, Jim, I will take your advice and not turn on FileValult either for my iMac hard drive or my backup drives. I do have SuperDuper for a clone backup.

Re: Will turning on Fileault mess up Time Machine
Howdy.
Do you need to encrypt your Time Machine backups? Yes, you can. TM will backup FileVault encrypted drives. If you do not need to encrypt, I suggest not doing it. It adds another level of complexity and should something go wrong makes it harder to recovery data. Otto has some good comments. I use TM to backup my boot drive and and external 3 TB HDD with my Documents, Movies, Library, and Pictures. I use the astonishingly good, convenient, and easy to do CarbonCopyCloner backup feature for 9 other external HDD. None of my backups are encrypted. Do you know how to make a password protected Disk Image File? It might be a good idea to do this with your backups first and then turn FileVault on for encryption. You can use Disk Utility to make Disk Image Files and an option is to assign a password. Of course, you would have to re-do this from time-to-time. Re: Will turning on Fileault mess up Time Machine
I thought I was the only one who's done that! I have read so many horror stories over the years of TM without warning refusing to run a backup and the backups becoming?inaccessible, with a fresh start being the only option, losing everything (unless, of course, you keep alternating TM backups).? Many people think?of CCC as only a cloning app. In fact, you can schedule backups of as much, or little, of your drive as you like, on hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, whatever, cycles, and the Safety Net effectively gives you?versioned backups too. Will turning on Fileault mess up Time Machine
vI keep asking this question and haven¡¯t seen an answer. I had an error message from Time Machine about not being able to make copies because my Time Machine backup drive was not encrypted. I forget the exact error message. I turned off FileVault as someone suggested (it took more than a day) and then reformatted my TM backup drive. I asked whether or not I should turn Filevault back on (as my version of Quicken suggested) and if I did, would I be back at square one with an error message that my TM backup drive is not encrypted. Does anyone know the answer to this question?
