It doesn¡¯t annoy me at all. What DOES annoy me is this petty ping pong match. Awaiting the flames . . .

Have you tried this:
toggle quoted message

- open Finder - click on Finder in the menu bar and select empty trash. You may be doing a secure delete, which is time-consuming. Be sure that option is not selected. I have my own signatures with photos and/or graphics. I love them. It makes me feel like I put more effort into the message I'm sending. Email can be impersonal and there are times when I really wish I could have written a note or embossed it or something. I have my own reasons for liking images and color. I make sure I host those images instead of attaching them, but that was my preference. When I say "you do you" I actually mean it. I don't have a preference as to what you do with your email signature line. Your photo has been attached to your signature line for a while. I didn't give it a second thought until this discussion arose.?

Hi Folks!
I simply closed all apps, then did a shutdown. Then I brought the iMac back up and the message was gone. To further attempt to divorce myself from Yahoo!, I went to each browser that I use and made sure that Yahoo! was NOT selected as a search engine or start page. Each browser is using Duck Duck Go. I will be sure to search for and trash Chromium and/or Chrome or Chrome based browsers. Generally I use Opera, Safari or Tor when doing financial stuff. Should this renegade message pop up again, I¡¯ll repost. If the email comes from the individual, but not if the email comes from the list. And I do not routinely add everyone on a list I¡¯m on to my Contacts. And where would I get images of list members to add to my Contacts if I wanted to?
I notice that posts my image in every post I send, IF it is viewed on the website, but NOT if it is sent out as email.
±«³¾³¾³¾¡ I saw no image included in his post. Just the ? character, which is a type-able character, if you know how. |

In my mind, the question is - what does an image, graphic, or photo ADD to the information being sought and/or volunteered?
An image indicating contact information for a member's Mac repair business is very relevant.? Personal photos in signature lines are more relevant when people are trying to prove they're not 13. If 13 year old member on the list posted an articulate question or response, their age becomes irrelevant. If the information is accurate and well-phrased, they could be any age, any gender, from any location, etc. So I'll ask - Jim, what does the photo of you add to your post? If it's just for the sake of it, I think you need to take to heart that there are actual reasons NOT to do it. I'm not opposed to it, personally. Hi Folks!
Just got this pane that came up on my screen. Update Required. The ONLY option is to press OK. I haven't yet. However, it says: Your version of Yahoo provided search is out of date. Click here to cancel the automatic update. I click there and it doesn't cancel. By clicking OK you agree to install Chromium, set Yahoo provided search as your default search on all of your compativle browsers and accept the Yahoo Terms of Use and Privacy Policy and the Chromium Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. I've tried to FORCE QUIT, but this pane does not appear in the list of options. Anyone seen this ? What should I do? Thanks, Bob Beckham macOS Catalina 10.15.0 16 Gigs RAM iMac 27" Late 2012 |
Having swapped everything and every slot, I was at wits end.?
I had a spare Apple keyboard plugged into the loaner laptop PC.?
For the hell of it, I tried it.? It works!
?
Once logged into the iMac, I swapped the dead Apple keyboard for the working one.? Nothing.
I plugged the dead keyboard into the laptop PC.??
The PC recognized and set it up, but it doesn't type in the laptop either.
I'm guessing the resuming power zapped the keyboard, keys, but nothing else.
?
So, what about the?MACALLY?keyboard that appeared to also be dead??
Once logged into the iMac, I swapped the Apple for the?MACALLY.??
The iMac didn't care and the MACALLY works just fine now.
It has replaced the good keyboard on this loaner laptop.

Budd, why are you not replying to the group? Don't you want to share a possible answer with the group? He replied back that my suggestion did not work and he is going to try with Apple. He has not replied to the list on whether Dan's suggestion?worked or not, but apparently not. My guess would be that Dan's suggestions might be difficult to perform without a working wired keyboard. But we, as a group, can only guess that. I find the third suggestion, very improbable, as it used to be that a USB keyboard would slow down that buss or circuit of USB, and so should not be combined with other USB devices other than the pointing device. That could have changed in later OS than the one I am using, but I think it is a hardware thing, not software. It did show why not to combine them.? The only things that I can think is that either the code or the prefs for that part of the startup got corrupted in the improper shut off by the power failure, or the USB circuits on his 2009 iMac or keyboard got damaged in the power surge when the power came back on. Budd, please let the list know what the outcome of the talk with Apple is. Brent MacBook Pro,?15",?early 2008, OS X 10.7.5 iPhone 4S, iOS 9.3.6 On Oct 27, 2019, at 5:42 PM, Brent via Groups.Io wrote:
