I've had many more good experiences than bad, like you. And as I implied, they like to under promise, and over perform. I have been out of warranty, and had a laptop keyboard replaced. I had taken it in recently before, but the problem had not been fixed. I also _asked_ if anything could be done, not demanded. ,?

I have an Apple Store 20 minute drive from me, and I *have* had Applecare repairs on Mac computers (but not iPhones or iPads). I’ve had Mac laptops for over 20 years.
The significant problems needed to be sent off (as opposed to fixed in store). One time, with a brand new machine, they pulled it off the repair line to do a complete disassembly for Quality Assurance purposes, but someone forgot to make the notation to “send customer a new machine”, and I had to call to ask about it before they sent a new one.
Another time, I had *a* problem (that I knew about), but when I got it back from Texas, in a matter of 4 days or so, they had replaced the screen, the motherboard, and much of the innards. Under Applecare.

Hi Alice - I have never used a Swipe keyboard before. I just started with iOS 13. I am amazed how fast it is. And how it knows large words when I am fumbling around the keyboard. I make mistakes and it has some errors but much less than touch. I really like it. Sue

I use to use Gboard for swipe typing. It was a very nice keyboard. Then I started using the built-in feature. It works well if I don’t swipe too fast. With Gboard, I got pretty good at swipe typing. Could do it pretty fast. With the Apple version, if I swipe fast like using the Gboard version, the Apple version isn’t accurate.

Re: Selecting Text in New iOS
Hello Group
Thanks for all the posts regarding cursor control…
After reading them and practicing for awhile, I seem to have regained the ability to put the cursor where I want it when I want it.
Gotta admit that for now at least I wish that it had not changed…. but time will most likely heal that feeling.

I think I’ve got it, but when I release my finger, it pops into a different position. And cursor movement has a different feel now - smoother. “Smoother” may sound good, but in this case it’s not.
I am having the same problem…. I try to position the cursor where I want it, and it selects a whole word instead.

Leti, with WatchOS 6, as I recall, Apple introduced the option to Speak the Time regardless of the face selected. It is an option under "clock" settings in the Watch set up utility.
With it turned on, you hold 2 fingers on the face to announce the current time.
Ken

I hadn’t tried it either and find it to be pretty neat. ?Thank you! Pat
It would be even neater if you had Airpods in.

I miss the magnifying glass too, whoever got rid of that has done iOS a?big disservice. However if you get the insertion bar close, then click and?hold the space bar, you can accurately position the insertion point by?sliding on the space bar.? Not intuitive at all.?
For me, “intuitive” is whatever I’m used to. I live on a laptop, so moving the insertion point with a trackpad is EXTREMELY intuitive.
