Re: MAC questions
Thank you for trying to help, Peter. Unfortunately the issue is not with an embedded photo. It's the inability to follow a "hot link" directly to a photo in an album. I let my members know they have to actually be looking at the enlarged photo in their album before copying the URL into their message to give a link to their photo for the other members to get to quickly.?
? Frances, I believe if the member was not logged in to their account, they would not be able to see the photos at all since mine is a restricted group. This member is able to see the photos, but she has to go through the succession of "all groups, to specific group, to album, and then the particular photo". That is bizarre as the hot link should have taken her directly to the photo. ? I appreciate your trying to help with this. Annick |
Re: apparent blacklisting iiNet
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have been chasing this since 25th January, many phone calls and many emails, with no result. However, as of 7 hours ago, some mail has been trickling in from all 4 .io groups that I belong to, maybe they have reprogrammed their server which was blocking the emails... keeping my fingers crossed. I have just stumbled into an effect of this change: On Sat, 04 Apr 2020 04:58:15 +0100, Mark Fletcher <[email protected]> wrote:
Contrary to the text above, IMHO, this obscures who the message as sent to! I answered a message to a +owner address and CC'd the +owner address so everyone would know I had responded. Can anyone offer a good reason not to request the reversal of the change? Malcolm. -- Malcolm Austen - email: malcolm.austen@... |
Eudora blocking groups.io ?
Can you tell me if I am interpreting this bounce correctly?
Is Eudora blocking messages from groups.io? asav.iinet.net.au: 554 irony-in28.icp.internal.iinet.net.au Your access to this mail system from 66.175.222.108 has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. apparent blacklisting iiNet
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello Email from my groups.io list to members with an @iinet.net.au address appear to be being blacklisted.? The following bounce message is being sent from iiNet: ? Failed - 554 icp-osb-irony-in3.iinet.net.au Your access to this mail system from 66.175.222.12 has been rejected due to the sending MTA's poor reputation. If you believe that this failure is in error, please contact the intended recipient via alternate means. ? I have advised the recipient to contact iiNet to rectify this (but knowing how this can be a nightmare to change, since these blacklists are automated). ? Is there anything else to be done? ? Question about Deleting Attachments
If I delete a file that's attached to a message, and the file is also saved in the files section of my group, will it also be deleted from the files?
I don't want to inadvertently delete files that are necessary, but I also don't need to save duplicates in two different places. Thanks! Ginger |

Re: MAC questions
Frances, I make sure that any files in our files folders are uploaded as pdf files as I know many of our members don't have the ability to open docx files. As the devices are new to this member, I have a feeling she has some default settings in her devices that are causing the problems she is experiencing.

MAC questions
One of my group members is having some problems with her membership using her IMAC computer and new Ipad. As I use a PC, I am not able to diagnose what is going on with her issues. Can someone here who uses those devices answer her questions?
This is what she is asking: "Is the site up to date with the latest ?Apple updates? ?I can look at photos, I can bring up the files, but cannot print the patterns on the computer. ?I can no longer bring up the files on the iPad, nor can I enlarge the photos so I can see the details everyone talks about. ?So very frustrating! ?That is on iMac and iPad both. Re: Comcast problems. Is there a **good** Comcast tech support communication method
I'll give it a try.? Thanks. In general I've found that the standard communication methods end up talking to a person who has a script ("you must go through this ten step router reset procedure" - that doesn't do anything about the problem) and knows nothing about complicated issues.? Steve
