Re: Why does pain accompany cancer healing?
The pain does not necessarily indicate healing.
The pain could be caused by the tumor pressing on bones, nerves or other organs in the body. I am not a doctor but I would recommend a professional examination (by CT scan or MRI) to determine the status and location of the cancer tumor, and that might answer the reason for the chronic pain. Re: Is Gluten Free Flour OK to Use?
The word "processed" is frequently used incorrectly on this
board. Dr Budwig cautioned against CHEMICAL PROCESSING. Every cooked food is "processed" but not by chemical processes. The flax oil is "processed" through a chemical-free mechanical process but this "process" is not harmful. The oil is pressed in a heat-controlled environment to keep temperatures below 120 degrees F. It is important to differentiate between processes by some type of handling and chemical processes. Regarding the pasta, Dr. Budwig did not recommended pasta because the traditional pasta contains bleached wheat flour and eggs. Dr. Budwig highly recommends grain products. The pasta in question does not contain gluten, which is the protein in the wheat, MSG, GMO's and does not contain eggs, and therefore it is in compliance with the Budwig diet. There are many different flours are available, which are made of grains (rye, buckwheat, brown rice, quinoa, etc.), and they are all natural, gluten free, wheat free, GMO free, eggs free, etc. All of these products are Budwig diet comparable. Margie sez:
"Also I bought the Orgran buckwheat pasta, is this safe? I don't want to use these things if not 100% safe." Margie, I don't think pasta is allowed ... it's processed and that's not preferable ... someone please correct me if I'm wrong ... xxooo Melissa |
Re: flaxseed vs. tamoxifen
Melissa Buhmeyer
Melanie sez:
"Just wondering what it means when people say that the flaxoil or flaxseeds act as a natural tamoxifen." Melanie, here's the scoop: Tamoxifen is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It binds to the estrogen receptor so the strong estrogen cannot. Because of this, the cancer cannot grow. Flaxseed is a weak plant estrogen. Because of this, it binds to the estrogen receptor just like Tamoxifen. But since it's a "weak" estrogen, it's not strong enough to cause the cancer to grow, but it does block that receptor so the strong estrogen can't do it. Make sense? xxoo Melissa |
File - Some of Our Many Testimonials of Healing
Below are just a few of our member's messages about healing from cancer
and other conditions with the Budwig Protocol. [More testimonials are in Folder 6 in the files] The Budwig Protocol is more than cottage cheese & flax oil. It is a full plan of nutrition, sun therapy and stress reduction and it has saved many lives. Use each URL link below to access the full message. Sid, Halima, Janice, Mike, Melissa, Karen, Eric, Rhoda, Peter, Carol, Georgeta, Al and Tina all post regularly to the group. 1] Aug 5, 2007 - Sid - Asthma Sid wrote: I have been symptom-free for more than a month now while on modified BP = 3 FO + 6 CC daily; no meat, no sugar; lots of veggies and fruits. To date, I have not touched my Ventolin nebulizer nor inhaler. Not a single attack in two months (unheard of in my case). I've also quit Prednisone (steroid) and Claritin, which I used to take daily because effect lasts only 24 hours (like most anti-histamine). Definitely no more need for Budecort either :) What a relief. 2] Aug 5, 2007 - Halima - NHL Follicular lymphoma, stage 4 Halima wrote: "I was diagnosed on Sep 2006 with NHL Follicular lymphoma stage 4, grade 2, type A ( no symptoms). ...was offered chemo. I refused. I decided to follow [Budwig]...It took me some months to get "organized" and follow [Budwig] as close as I could. On Jan 2007 I did ultrasound and blood tests. my largest lymph node around the liver was 54mm. April 2007 I did again ultrasound.. my largest lymph node was 39x22 cm ! SMALLER! Today, August 2007 I did ultrasound again: My largest lymph node is 30 mm !! 20% smaller I am so grateful to Budwig and you people, without your support I don't know where I would be today! 3] July 31, 2007 - CBA - Fibrocystic Breast Disease CBA wrote: "I had fibrocystic breast disease, it started last year, I avoided xenoestrogens, ate only organic, took a lot of supplements but this didn't help so much. I had an ultrasound and they found plenty of cysts in my left breast (5) and right side (2). I started Budwig diet april last year. For 2-3 months the pain was getting worse and then miraculously it subsided and almost completely disappeared after a year. My breast tissue looks and feels normal now, I also noticed that the thickening of the lower part of my left breast is completely gone." 4] July 19, '07 - Eric - non-Hodgkins lymphoma Eric wrote: "I have diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Initially, in early December 2005 I had a fine needle aspiration of a node in my neck. A flow cytometry of this led to a tentative finding of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. A couple of weeks later I had a surgical biopsy which verified the flow cytometry. I took the CHOP-R chemo from March until June of 2006 but by October the stuff was back. In January, [my oncologist] did recommend more chemo to be followed by a stem cell transplant. I opted for natural methods instead. I feel very good. My lymphoma marker, LDH, has fallen from 370 to 200 since then (190 or less is normal). My scans have also improved but my work is not over (nor will it ever truly be)." 5] July 10, '07 - Janice - Breast Cancer with mets to the bones. Janice wrote: I have had no surgery...no allopathic medicine whatsoever. The tumors in my breasts (both sides), have reduced by 70-80% over the last four months on the BP. I have regained 60-70% range of motion in my left arm (which was practically none). My right arm is at about 90% , it wasn't nearly as bad as the left, I had about 50% range before BP. 6] July 8, '07 - Mike - carcinoid cancer of the pancreas. Diagnosed 3/06 with a tumor that was 9cm x 8cm, Mike spent a while with conventional treatment. Then stopped. Less than 15 months ago he began the...Budwig protocol. As of June 7, 2007 his tumor was reduced in size by almost 60% to 5.9cm x 5.2cm. He continues the BP & is confident he will be cancer-free. 7] July 3, '07 - Melissa - IV Breast Cancer w/mets. She wrote: "OK, it's official ...the CA125 is in..in May it was 44. I have been doing the BP since April 1, 2007 and just this past week I feel better than I've felt for a long time. The pain has lessened considerably, to the point where I hardly notice it. 9] June 12,'07 - Georgeta's husband, Cony. Multiple Myeloma. Excerpts from Georgeta's message: - diagnosed with MM stage III B (Kidney failure) in spring 2005 - treated by Mayo doctor with steroids (dexamethasone) for 4 months to restore kidney function. - had stem cell transplant- extremely sick during transplant, almost dead with infections including septicemia. Took tons of medications and antibiotics. - January 2006 while in hospital again, diagnosed with amyloidosis in his lung, another deadly disease - declared terminal...6 month or less to live -came home extremely sick, unable to eat, sleep, depressed, developed shingles... - Found Budwig books on Internet and later this group. Started protocol partially, not being able to eat normal portions. Gradually went on protocol 100%. - May 2006 - visit to Mayo - very good, no treatments needed from doctors - no more infections - started to gain back the weight -[6/12/07]Present result: very good partial remission - no need for other treatments - hemoglobin 14.3 from 12.3 last year in May ...Although the cancer is still seen in the blood work (minimum), we know we are on the best path for someone in this situation. His life changed completely, in fact now.. he has a life. Our neighbors used to see ambulances to our door. Now they see Cony...bathing in sun, reading and drinking his juices. What a difference. 10] June 8, 2007 - Rhoda - Ovarian Cancer. Rhoda wrote: "...the markers are continuing to drop 200 points each time. ...I started BP Sept, 06. Not much change for several months. This ovarian cancer first appeared six months after the first root canal of my life. So I found a biological dentist to extract the teeth with root canals. My marker rose one more time to 850 (>21 is normal). Two months later it dropped to 637. Now, six weeks later it is 469. 11] May 2007 - Peter Ryan - Liver cancer. With two tumors in his liver, Peter refused all conventional treatments. He chose the Budwig Protocol instead. After incorporating all parts of the plan, his test results showed that one tumor disappeared & the other was reduced by half after about 3 months. He is still closely following the plan and steadily reducing the cancer. 12] May '07 - Carol's son - Leukemia. After returning from Iraq, Carol Mahan's 22 year old son was diagnosed with CML. He stopped chemo after one treatment & started a raw foods diet. When he added flax oil and cottage cheese, he rapidly made greater progress and now feels great, his energy is high and his blood counts are in the normal range. His leukemia is gone. Further update from Carol 13] March '07 - Kimball Louis - Esophageal Cancer - One of the deadliest of cancers. After having his esophagus removed due to cancer, Kimball Louis, age 40 and a single dad, learned in May, '06, that the cancer had returned. He went to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, for chemo but after the treatment, tests showed that the cancer remained in his body. Doctors said that there was nothing more they could do. He then began to search for alternatives. He found the Budwig Protocol and FlaxseedOil2. In Jan '07, he began following the full protocol "to the letter." Seven weeks later his testing showed that the cancer was gone. 14] Feb. '07 - Lymphoma - Nora Bailey was diagnosed in '05 and had severe pain all over her body. She refused chemo and followed the Budwig diet and began feeling better right away. In approximately three months her pain had disappeard. She was retested and the cancer was gone. 15] Jan.'07 - Al Pechel - Tongue Cancer-Squamous Cell Carcinoma In June '06, Al was diagnosed at UCLA & surgery was scheduled for July. He canceled surgery and eventually found the FlaxseedOil2 group. Al began the Budwig plan. In Dec '06 a 2nd tongue biopsy was taken at UCLA and came back cancer free as did re-check in mid-Jan '07. 16] Dec. '06 - In 2006, Tina had Breast Cancer with mets to the bones. Following several rounds of chemo, nothing had changed. After being on the Budwig Protocol for three months, a pet scan showed the cancer was gone. Tina wrote: "I started the Budwig protocol (about September 20th??) and discontinued all my anti-oxidants by about October 1st....I KNOW that addressing the root emotional cause was probably most important of anything, though. Physically, I know I've FELT the best with the Budwig protocol - more energy and just feeling great." On Dec. 15, Tina reported that her PET scan was clear. 17] Feb.'06 - Allen - Colon Cancer. Part of the posted message] Allen wrote: "I am a 42 year old male and was diagnosed with colon cancer in May 2004. I went the surgery, chemo and radiation route and almost said goodbye to everybody. In fact, I was busy getting my affairs in order. My son was 9 and my daughter only 2. Then a friend told me about Cheryl, who immediately got me started on the Budwig protocol...by October I could feel life returning to my body. I was able to walk normally again, most of the pain was gone and in November I went back to work. My oncologist reckons that I am a miracle - imagine that!! It was in fact simple hard work - I had to learn how to eat properly etc... I am healthy now - the Budwig protocol saved my life. [Between Sept and Nov, 3 months, Allan regained a normal life] 18] Cliff Beckwith, the man who started FlaxseedOil2, was diagnosed with prostate cancer when he was 74 & given 6 months to live by his urologist. He learned about Dr. Budwig, started flax oil and cottage cheese and lived till age 85, passing away in April, '07. He helped many others through his website, this group & audiotapes he gave out about this healing diet. He gathered reports of many people who have been healed by the Budwig Protocol. We have his reports in our files and many of his messages in the archives of posts. 19] Brain Cancer-Glioma - Kristy, a young woman, could not speak or focus her eyes and was in the terminal ward of the hospital when her family and friends began feeding her the Budwig diet. Her mother wrote the following after several months of the Budwig plan. From: "Donna Moyer" Date: Sun Dec 18, 2005 My daughter was diagnosed with Glioma which is a cancerous brain tumor. The doctors did not perscribe chemo or radiation. They said there was no hope. That was in early June.[2005] 3 weeks after starting Budwig diet she started to get better. We are now in the process of transferring her out of the terminally ill center and into a physical therapy center. The doctor has said its a miracle. [Here is a link with more detail about Kristy's case--- 20] Brain Cancer - GBM - Tom, Feb 10 2002 to 2003 Date: Thu Jan 2, 2003 I've made a little web site with my husband's testimony on it. Flax oil/cottage cheese was central to his holistic treatment. He had a Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme. If you would like to check it out go to Thanks - Kelly 21] Breast Cancer - Daphne Moore reported that in '95 she had a cancerous breast tumor removed. In 2001 doctors found matatasis to the lower vertebre. She started Budwig Plan & is now cancer free. Nothing new to be found, in fact the old hotspot where I had had a back fracture from an accident has also disappeared. To date - I am a 12.5 year survivor of advanced BC. I still take the BP on a daily basis and love it. I am careful but not overly strict in my eating habits, am not a great meat eater anyway. best regards to all, Daphne 22] Breast Cancer and Lymphoma- Cheryl du Toit's sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, quit chemo and was healed with the Budwig Protocol. Cheryl's dad was diagnosed with Lymphoma, followed the Budwig Plan & regained his health 23] Cheryl worked for a while with a group of cancer patients who healed & regained their normal lives with the Budwig Protocol. Below is an excerpt from an update from Cheryl regarding her group "...we have a liver cancer patient in remission for almost 2 years now, pancreatic cancer -2 years, my own dad - non-hodgkins lymphoma 2 1/2 years, my sister -breast cancer, 2 years 9 months, all the arthritis patients - unbelievable improvements. File - Introduction to the Budwig Protocol-Must Read
This is automatically posted every two weeks.
Please read this carefully, print it out & use it daily. --------------------------------------------------------------- INTRODUCTION to the BUDWIG PROTOCOL with DIET DETAILS This plan has stopped cancer & other diseases for over 50 years --------------------------------------------------------------- This can help you to follow Dr. Budwig's protocol. It is based on her book, "Cancer - The Problem and the Solution" [1999], her cookbook, "The Oil-Protein Diet" [1952] as well as on our Files for this group and experiences of our members. Most people begin gradually, adding healthy foods & liquids and eliminating damaging ones. The diet seems simple, but foods are powerful and can damage or heal a person. The Budwig plan has healed people of many kinds of cancer and other diseases and conditions. In liver, pancreatic, stomach and gall bladder disease it's best to begin with a "Transition Diet" which is explained in our Files Section, Folder 3. After the transition, begin the diet below with small amounts of the oil & cheese as well as the other foods. Dr.Budwig had over a 90% success rate with this protocol with all kinds of cancer patients over a 50 year period. Many research studies done in the last ten years support the cancer-fighting value of foods, juices, sun exposure and relaxation Dr.Budwig recommended. There are many testimonials in the Files of this group written by members who have regained their health by following this protocol after being diagnosed with cancer - many of them terminal. To start the diet, it helps to have 3 appliances: 1- A coffee bean grinder to grind the whole brown flaxseeds sold in health food stores or online. 2- An immersion hand-held mixer (a stick-shaped mixer), to blend flaxseed oil [FO] and cottage cheese [CC] together so that they become one food, making the oil water-soluble and more absorbable. 3- A vegetable juicer. A masticating or extractor type may give a more healthful juice than a centrifugal type. Many members like Green Star. FLAXSEED OIL and COTTAGE CHEESE (FOCC) or quark: Generally, each tablespoon of Flaxseed Oil (FO) is mixed with 2 or more tablespoons of low-fat organic Cottage Cheese (CC)or quark. That is a FOCC ratio of approximately 1:2. Cold-pressed refrigerated liquid FO is used, for example, Barlean's & Spectrum. It's better to buy regular FO instead of High Lignan FO. Healthier lignans are obtained at a lower cost by using freshly ground flaxseeds. [used instead of Linomel]. TO START THE DAY - About an hour before breakfast, have a glass of raw sauerkraut juice. It has cancer-fighting benefits. Home-made is best in order to get the digestive enzymes [recipe in Files - Folder 5 'Foods']. Go to this site for a video on making sauerkraut: Press the arrow to start video. Also, you can order raw sauerkraut juice at this link: Anything pasteurized has lost its enzymes but still offers lactic acid which is important and helps with digestion. Biotta is a brand that is pasteurized but is a high quality juice and has lactic acid. Biotta can be ordered online. One 17oz bottle offers two servings. Use this link. BREAKFAST - Start with a cup of green tea or herbal tea. It provides warm liquid required for the ground flaxseeds to swell properly. That is important. Then eat your Muesli [Muesli in the Budwig diet refers to the recipe below - we often call it FOCC]. Cottage cheese, quark, homemade yogurt cheese or kefir cheese is OK to use. [Recipes in Files] Budwig Muesli[FOCC] Recipe: [Prepare only enough for one meal - avoid storing. Consume immediately. Use organic foods if possible.] [1] Blend 3 tblsp. flaxseed oil with 6 tblps. low-fat CC with a hand-held immersion electric mixer for about a minute. If needed, add 2 tblsp milk. The mixture should be like rich whipped cream with no separated oil. [2] Grind 2 tblsp whole flaxseeds and add. [This replaces Linomel] [3] Add fresh [frozen if necessary] berries which contain cancer-fighting ellagic acid. [4] Add other fresh fruit if you like, totaling 1/2 to 1 cup of fruit. [5] If mixture is too thick, add some fruit juice [e.g. dark grape, blueberry] or milk. Fruits & their juices are proven cancer fighters. [6] Add organic raw nuts such as walnuts or Brazil nuts [no peanuts] and, if you wish, a bit of raw honey or vanilla. Try various fresh organic fruits and flavorings. Limit honey to 2 to 4 teaspoons a day. MID-MORNING - Freshly-pressed vegetable juice from carrot and/or radish, stinging nettle, beet, celery, lemon, apple [carrot and beet juices are especially helpful to the liver and are excellent cancer fighters.] GO OUTSIDE FOR SUNLIGHT - Sunlight on the skin is very healthful for vit.D and other benefits [even in winter]. Dr. Budwig stressed the value of sunlight. Avoid burning & avoid sunscreen & sunglasses. If you feel up to having some exercise, individualize it according to your strength - DON'T OVERDO IT. Some quotes by Dr.Budwig regarding exercise: "Often yoga or sport is very important, but sometimes the patient should not do this" and "I would never allow a cancer patient with metastases to jog, ride a bicycle, or to practice yoga. His body must relax." She added, "There is no one treatment that applies for everyone. The patient must also feel for himself what is good for him." and "The whole subject of sport must be treated on a very individual basis." One form of exercise that is beneficial for most people is using a rebounder [a mini-trampoline] because it helps clear the lymph system and promotes better drainage. See www.healthbounce. com & www.needakrebounder .com] BEFORE LUNCH - A cup of warm green or herbal tea. Use honey if desired (no sugar). Also suggested, one tblsp whole flaxseeds, freshly ground and added to a glass of Champagne, known to help digestion & absorption. [1999 book] LUNCH - RAW vegetable salad with various home made salad dressings which may include 1 or more tblsp FO blended with 1 or 2 tblsp organic low-fat CC plus 1 tblsp organic apple cider vinegar or lemon juice and spices. Or, for sweeter dressing, try FO & red grape juice or another fruit juice. You can vary the salad dressings based on the recipes in the Oil-Protein Diet Cookbook. Several recipes do not include cottage cheese at all. The body can utilize 2 or 3 tblsp oil without cottage cheese. Avoid commercial salad dressings. Experiment with spices, honey or garlic for variety. If still hungry, make baked or steamed veggies and grains. [See dinner] LUNCH DESSERT: Repeat breakfast recipe with varied fresh raw fruits (organic if possible). This is the second FO/CC serving of the day: three tblsp flax oil & 6 tblsp CC with fresh fruit but NO flaxseeds. Smaller amounts of food are digested better. Work up to six tblsp FO per day, if possible, mixed with twice as much CC, depending on digestive ability and size. Chew very well to optimise digestion. Predigestion starts in the mouth by mixing saliva with the foods. Try to have your meals in a peaceful atmosphere. Stress reduction is important. MID-AFTERNOON - Two tblsp whole flaxseeds, freshly ground, stirred into a glass of sparkling wine or Champagne OR one teaspoons flaxseeds, ground and stirred into a glass of fruit juice: grape, cherry or pineapple. Chew the ground flaxseeds for better digestion. RELAX, IN THE SUN IF POSSIBLE, to relieve stress. It's healing. Seek out nature, music, chat, laughter, or what pleases you. LATE AFTERNOON - One tblsp whole flaxseeds, ground & added to blueberry or papaya juice. Both papaya & pineapple [above] have digestive enzymes if they are fresh. Most bottled juices have lost their enzymes but still have valuable nutrients. If making the juice, drink it immediately after preparation before the enzymes are lost by air and light. You want to get as many natural enzymes as possible [as well as electrons from flax seeds & oils]. [Note: Instead of the fruit juices, some members heal using homemade vegetable juices as described at 10 a.m.] DINNER - Vegetable soup or a variety of veggies and starch-containing foods, well spiced. Add Oleolux and nutritional yeast flakes after cooking. Choices of cooked starchy foods - buckwheat (JB's top choice-digests well), millet, brown rice, lentils, beans, peas, yams & potatoes. Add lightly cooked vegetables such as tomatoes, spinach, beets, carrots, chard, cabbage, brussel sprouts, broccoli, onions, artichokes, asparagus, peppers, kale, green beans, etc. Also, add spices such as cayenne pepper, paprika & others. AFTER COOKING, add Oleolux 'to taste,' made with coconut oil, flaxseed oil, garlic and onion [recipe in Files under 'Foods']. Also use it as a spread on bread [whole grain, sprouted grain, home made or Ezekiel]. EVENING - A glass of organic red wine if desired. The above diet can be varied by the many recipes in Dr. Budwig's book "The Oil-Protein Diet Cookbook," sold on Amazon and Barlean's websites for about $10. THE FOLLOWING IS VERY IMPORTANT: Dr. Budwig stressed that we must AVOID UNHEALTHY FOODS and SUBSTANCES such as hydrogenated fats, trans-fats, animal fats other than in cheese, butter, sugar, white flour, preservatives, processed foods, pesticides and chemicals, even those in household products & cosmetics. Drink chemical-free, filtered water if possible. ++ Avoid leftovers - food should be prepared fresh and eaten soon after preparation to maximize intake of health-giving electrons & enzymes. ++ At least 3x a day drink warm green or herbal teas, unsweetened or sweetened only with honey. ++ Stress is very damaging. Avoid stress and anxiety; take time to relax & enjoy each day. Listen to beautiful music, laugh, do deep breathing, connect with nature, spend time with people you like. Eliminate anger and sadness through EFT, counseling, support group or some method of letting go of it. ++ ELDI oils are oils for external application. Dr.Budwig had her patients use them extensively. [See Files for information] . ++ Dr.Budwig did not include supplements in her protocol. Also, as far as we can tell, she did not use drugs with her protocol and generally discontinued those that were taken. Some supplements, especially high amounts of man-made antioxidants, can seriously interfere with how well the diet works, as can/will some drugs and treatments (particularly cytostatic [chemo and radiation] treatments, cortisones, hormones and many pain killers). She also warned against the dangers of ozone and oxygen therapy for the cancer patient. Ozone resulted in death for some members. ++ The foods in the Budwig Protocol give your body what it needs daily to stop cancer. Dr. Budwig warned that you should follow the diet strictly for three years before relaxing a little, but you can never stop these foods for more than a day or so, and you cannot regularly include damaging foods or supplements. Doing so may allow the cancer to return. This has happened to some people. Dr.Budwig's book "Flax Oil as a True Aid Against Arthritis, Heart Infarction, Cancer and other Diseases" offers an understanding of the scientific principles behind this protocol. Her cookbook "The Oil-Protein Diet" gives practical diet information and recipes. Both of these books can be ordered from www.Amazon.com or from www.Barleans.com for about $10. Her newest (and last) book, "Cancer-The Problem and The Solution," written in 1999, is available from Excerpts from this book are in the Links Section of our group along with Frequently Asked Questions [FAQ]& other information. Thanks for the info. It's always helpful to know the whys. My mom is having a lot of pain in the evenings. Somehow she is fine in the morning but her abdomen and lower back get painful in the late afternoons and throughout the night. By morning, she's fine again. It's has become a pattern, and I wish I know why. I do hope that she is healing. Her stomach seems to be soft, which is a good sign (no ascites), but the last few days she's been throwing up whenever she drinks fresh carrot/beet/apple juice. She is fine with FOCC in the morning but has hard time taking in the second FOCC. Does anyone ever experience low appetite and vomiting problem while on BP? Re: To: Cary & everyone who posted about the rebounder
Hi Cary,
Thanks for the reply. I don't know if my mom's anemia is caused by lack of iron but iron supplements (ferrous fumarate) were prescribed by her doctor but she doesn't like taking them because she has a hard time swallowing it, so she has stopped drinking it. Fortunately, her hemoglobin has increased again (from 90 to 93 then 97 ), we are hoping that it will continue to increase & be back to the normal range soon. After doing the rebounding the swelling in her ankles goes down a bit but after awhile it comes back again. So we do the rebounding 3x a day for 2-3 minutes. Btw, thanks to everyone who posted about the rebounder, we were able to buy one but without the stabilizer bars (couldn't find it here). But its not a problem since we just hold her hands while she gently bounces. An added bonus is that the rebounder lifts her spirits because she has fun whenever she bounces---it makes her smile :) (she also likes it when we lift her arms & legs & let it fall on the bed while she is lying down) Thats a great benefit since a lot of times she gets sad & frustrated with her illness. I'm just concerned that my mom hasn't gained any weight---she is still very, very thin--she says that its because we are only feeding her vegetables & fruits. Although I know that vegetables & fruits contain lots of vitamins & minerals, but does she lack protein? I'm planning to give her beans to have protein in her diet. She doesn't have an appetite but manages to finish the food we give her. For lunch we give her boiled vegetables instead of salads since she has a hard time chewing raw vegetables, for dinner she has buckwheat & vegetables. Do you have any suggestions on how she can gain weight? The doctors said that she lost weight because the nutrients would go to her tumor instead. Did Lori lose weight when she was first diagnosed? If yes, has she gained her normal weight back now that she is better? What did she do? How long did it take? Thanks for any suggestion anyone might give. Maritoni cary wrote: Hi Maritoni, 1. Re: Why does pain accompany cancer healing?
Tina
In the case of cancer of the BONE dying out, it leaves a spot in the bone
that must be re-grown by the body. In the case of the spinal cord, this can be very painful to endure as your body regrows the bone and it is called a “compression fracture. I had cancer in my right leg also in the large bone the femur. That bone is about ½ inch shorter than the other one now. If I had been able to stay off of it more, it would not be so short now. Ah, hindsight is so clear! Question
Dear FSOil2,
I'm an american living in India. I started on Budwig diet in Australia, however in India you cannot buy cottage cheese like in the West. Here it is called Paner and comes in slabs, also they are not light, or non-fat. I have been cutting these slabs up, mixing them and then with mixer and then with FSO. Will this work, or would I better off to use yogurt? I frequently can buy yogurt made with raw buffalo milk which has the added enzymes. I'm concerned about the fat content and whether this will suffice in the Budwig diet. Where I am in India it is also to difficult to get organic vegetables, and to have an ideal diet. Please advise. Thank you. Sincerely, Stephen Field |

Hello Fredge
Yes. My husband ( male breast cancer) was already on the FOCC programme when he commenced radiation to the left side of his chest. He underwent six weeks of treatment. Although we are convinced the flax seed helped him to deal with the effects of the radiation he did suffer some nasty side effects towards the end and was unable to swallow for the last few weeks. When, a few months later his blood tests revealed an immune system problem with his white blood cells his doctor said it was a common result of radiation. However a couple of very strict months on the Budwig protocol bought it under control. Rebecca |
Is Gluten Free Flour OK to Use?
marjorieprice2
Hi to everyone in the group, can anyone tell me is it safe on the BP
protocol to use Gluten Free flour. Its by Orgran (gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, egg free, yeast free, GMO free, soya free and no added cane sugar) It says safe for vegan. I have been making roti's out of this, filling them with the veg and the BP mayo and giving my husband this for a few days to take for his lunch. I hope this is OK. All I add to the flour is water. Also I bought the Orgran buckwheat pasta, is this safe? I don't want to use these things if not 100% safe. Thanks Marjorie |

Your checklist is fine but would like to suggest the following: 1) To keep the pre-ground flaxseeds fresh, dunk them in honey (just enough to wrap the seeds and keep them fresh until you have to take them). There is a step-by-step instruction on how to do this among the old posts or files (I think from Cliff). Will try to find it and give it to you if you don't find it yourself. 2) Why not bring a small thermos of hot water and your tea bags. No need to make do with lukewarm tea when you can take it hot. (There are cute Rubbermaid or Thermos brand thermos available in supermarkets, WalMart for sure carries them). 3) Re the cute little cooler, to save you the trouble of painting the butterflies and lady bugs (a very bright idea, I have to admit :)), why not get one of those Lisa Franks kiddie coolers (ie. if you can stand the big round eyes and shocking color combination) or one of those milder designs in pale pink, fluorescent green, and powder blue. Or even better, if you feel like shouting to the world "how gorgeous the journey of life" actually is, I highly recommend the animae-inspired lunch kits for boys with the loudest & wildest colors you can ever imagine combined ;) Good luck Bronwynn... Re: FO/CC smoothie advice
"duckie74" wrote:
Is there anything "wrong" or undesirable about just combining the-------Hi Marty, the ground flax seeds are very valuable cancer healers. By now you have probably read the instructions for making the FOCC muesli recipe that's in "The Introduction to the Budwig Protocol" that was sent to you when you joined the group. Follow the steps of that recipe, which include blending 3 tblsp FO with 6 CC, using an immersions mixer for about a minute, then adding freshly ground flax seeds, about a cup of fruit, including berries if possible, a small amount of honey and a few Brazil or walnuts. At that point, you could add a little more milk or fruit juice and put it all in a blender to make a smoothie. You could leave out the nuts if you wish. The flax seeds are important, but if they are causing digestive problems, you could reduce the amount from 2 tblsp to one per serving. My mom (and I, just to see what it was like) tried the FO/CC byitself and it was difficult to stomach. I'd like to sweeten it a bit and see if that is better for her to handle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. --------Whenever we refer to FO/CC in this group, we mean the entire recipe that Dr. Budwig explained which includes the fruit and honey, etc. that I named above. Some people add other flavorings that they like. PS - As I will be making this recipe for her and bringing it to her---------We had a discussion today about how to store the foods in this protocol. Use a small thermos or other container so that very little air is left in with the mixture. Transport it in a cooler. Actually, Dr. Budwig recommended not storing foods at all, but making them fresh and eating them right away. This preserves the benefits in the mixture. But, if that cannot be done, then the next best thing is to store the recipe with as little exposure to light and air as possible. Thanks everyone and best of health to all! I am not at all "worried." Just wondering what it means when people say that the flaxoil or flaxseeds act as a natural tamoxifen. Melanie ----- Original Message -----

Solution: How can I have a life AND do this protocol!?!?!?
Thank you all for all your words of wisdom and all your creative ideas. I have decided to do the following when traveling out of my home for the day. Please let me know if something on this list is DEFINATELY not ok. Otherwise, I will take no response as agreement. Here goes:
*Bring a mini cooler/luch bag *Pack pre-juiced veggies and fruits just in case I cannot locate a health food store or stand that will do it fresh for me. *Prepare a salad with CC/FO dressing on the side. *Pre-grind flaxseeds to add to the juice (I know I run the risk of them going rancid but I simply refuse to take a coffee grinder to the beach !! :) - There are no outlets there. :)) *Pack pre-made dinner. *Convert the 2 Muesli servings into shakes and take them in a thermos. (I know the flax oil is not as potent that way but I equally refuse to take a blender to the beach as well. If I did find an outlet at the beach, I'd disrupt the segals when they're having their little conventions - you all know what I'm talkin about. :) *Drop a Green Tea Bag into a room temperature large water bottle and just drink room temp. tea all day . I think that's it. Sounds good to me. Was trying to get out of carrying anything on my person. But, guess it's impossible. I'll get a cute little cooler and paint butterflies and ladybugs on it and make it beautiful so that I am reminded of how gorgeous the journey of life can be each time It's time to eat :) |
Loretta / Re: How can I have a life AND do this protocol!?!?!?
Loretta,
I really appreciate your response. As I said in my post directed to you, I did not believe that you were intentionally trying to hurt me. The concept of Neutrality is something I have been exploring lately. My practice of it was seriously halted when I read your original post. And now that I've had a day to reflect on it, I thank you for providing me with an opportunity to more deeply practice that principal in my life. After reading your original post, I became infuriated. You are right. It did push some of my buttons. And I do mean MY buttons. I will own that. I often have trouble being content with myself and what I am choosing without feeling the need to "prove" something to someone. And in your original post, I felt like you were offering me information that I already know and have made great leaps and bounds to implement into my life, in order to heal from cancer. So, I reacted. And all day I felt it, physically. A few hours after I read it, I nearly fainted because I had wasted sooo much energy being upset. The lymph nodes in my neck that were once inflamed with cancer (which I have not had any discomfort with in months) began to throb and cause me pain. And I became so tired I had to lay on my couch for nearly 3 hours before I could stand up without feeling light-headed. I have heard that harboring "resentment" is like ingesting poison and expecting the other person to die. Today I was the living testimonial for that saying. Today was just more proof that our emotions absolutely DO directly affect our bodies and I thank you for providing me with the opportunity to remember that. It is important for my health that I stay neutral. Thank you for sharing much of your story with me and the group. And now, for my own well-being, if you do not mind, I will try to approach and respond to your latest post in as neutral a way as I can. I will also explain some of my story so that you need not worry or become "concerned" about me and the way I am handling my treatment. Although I do appreciate the concern. I think it will benefit myself, the group and possibly you. You wrote, "I am truly concerned when it takes anyone with active cancer six months to implement the protcol." -The cancer that I was diagnosed on 9/5/07 has not been "active" for a little while now. I have been in remission for the last 6 months. Upon diagnosis, I did MUCH to heal myself. I immediately quit smoking and ingesting mind-altering substances like heard alcohol and marijuana. I eliminated sugar, caffeine, dairy, bread, animal products and anything NOT organic. I threw away all household products that were not natural. Switched from anti-perspirant to "Toms Natural Deoderant". Quit my stressful job, kicked out my stressful roomate, moved in my amazingly supportive boyfriend and simply stopped talking to anyone who was not totally confident and positive about not only my healing, but about their lives as well. Began meditating for an hour every day and visualizing my body perfectly healed and whole. Even went online and looked at pictures of healthy bone scans and mammograms so that I could more easily see what it is I was aiming for. Began to go to a Qi Gong Healer. I bought a juicer and began to juice veggie and fruit juice. Began to drink Green Tea all day. I gave up my OBSESSIVE WORRYING habits which I believe contributed greatly to developing cancer at such a young age (I used to stay up at night worrying that each ache and pain I had was cancer - from the age of about 8 years old - learned how to worry from my wonderfully neurotic Jewish mother.) Gave up contact with my mother for 4 months, until I became neutral with her after much inner healing around our relationship took place within me - totally alone. Learned how to relax and enjoy sunsets, laugh and play and figure out how to create happiness. Took time to learn guitar and write and paint. Realized I had never learned how to become happy. Was stuck in survival mode in life. It is all I saw growing up and therefore all I knew. Dived in deep into exploring my spirituality and belief system pertaining to "God". Got clear on my intention for being here on this planet. And much more. I did all this instinctively. I had not heard of the BP at that time. I simply KNEW what to do to get better and had faith that although a "CURE" was not something that was commonplace, that I would somehow, someway do it, simply because I desired it. Never gave up hope. Did 6 months of intense chemo, until I decided to stop, for good, based on research coupled with my intuition. Followed my heart and soul and 7 months ago approximately found the BP and KNEW it was for me. So, I did alot. And when you expressed concern, it was not based on what you knew about me. So, I felt judged and misunderstood. You wrote, "I didn't jump up and sing "Glory" either because I had a huge victim mentality. Why me? Thankfully I had a natural health doc who "taught" me how to be thankful for absolutely everything that comes into my life---yes, even cancer..." - I am glad that you had a doctor to help guide you to that realization Loretta. I did not. The idea of being thankful for everything that comes our way is something I am in agreement with and believe fully and whole-heartedly. I have never once said "why me". I have always been more than greatful for the gift of cancer in my life. It has been my greatest teacher. And if you look back into the posts a few weeks, you will notice that I actually wrote a HUGE one on just that subject, which I'm sure some people were not in agreement with. But that is ok. That is their journey and I trust their process just as I trust my own. After ending up in AA at 17, having an abortion at 15, being left by my father at 5 months old, being born to a crazy neurotic toxic mother, almost dying from a cocaine overdose at 16, having to move out at 18 and pay bills and not be able to go to college even though I graduated with honors, surviving a rare disease at 5 yrs called Cat Scratch Fever (yes, just like the song :)) and having gone through many other scary life challenges, all before the age of 25, I decided LONG AGO that this is not all a cruel joke and have used every single thing in my life for my upliftment and growth. I regret nothing and LOVE, unconditionally, myself and others, in spite of all my reasons I've been given not to. So, I felt preached to when you said that. I felt that I was being viewed as complaining. I was not. I simply had a moment of weekness. Which I am entitled to. And you know what, so are you. You wrote, "I completely understand the perception of being inconvenienced. However, I get concerned when those with cancer do not take a break in order to allow their body to heal." -I did take a break to allow myself to heal. By saying you were concerned when people do not take that break, I felt you were uninformed. I took a year-long break. Most of that time spent in my apartment, trying to heal from cancer, researching cancer, trying to eat right for cancer, not hangin with negative people for cancer. Are you catching the jist here? My point being, when I discussed that I am now ready to go out into the world, what you may not know about me is that going out at this point in my life is absolutely the most healing thing that I can do for myself. I have taken a break from life. Actually completely and happily abandoned my old life, and now, after much prayer and meditation, have intuitively concluded that it is best for me to take a break from cancer. To MOVE ON. To go out. TO be with people. To LIVE. I took a wonderful walk in the woods the other day. I came to the trees with a question. I asked why the tumor in my breast was not gone yet. I know that it is either dead, encapsulated or scar tissue. But I wanted to know what I was still holding onto that was preventing me from releasing it fully. And nature answered, clearly and loudly. It said "You have already been healed. It is you who are holding you back. You continue to ask for what has already been granted.". That rang true for me. So, for me, it is important that I ask once, and then go about my life as if my wish has been granted, with gratefullness and joy. So, my next step in implementing this is to GO OUTSIDE MY APARTMENT. I hope this is useful for you. What may not look like healing to you could be just perfect for someone else. I implore you to keep that in mind when responding to other people in the future. You wrote, "In my opinion, notice I said "my" opinion, I think that it is possibly a mistake to try to keep living the lifestyle you are used to. I think it makes it difficult to implement the changes that are needed in order to heal. " -Once again, you were simply not informed that I was not and am not keeping the life that made me ill in the first place. I completely agree with this statement. But in response to my original post, there was absolutely nothing that I said about staying stuck in an old pattern. It is you who somehow interpreted my longing to be outside as a desire to continue my old life. You wrote, "but before we allow ourselves to get angry or hurt by a post, let's remember that possibly someone else may have benefited or needed that post." -And lastly, Loretta. I am in agreement with you once more. I took much of what you said as if it were directed at me in particular. And maybe it was not, maybe it was. I am happy these conversations took place because it appears as though MANY people have benefitted from them. So, in conclusion, I really respond well to people when they stay on point with what I am asking for. If I ask for life advice or a new way of looking at a situation, then please, by all means, give me that. But when I ask for something simple like ideas on how to keep to my protocol outside of my home, please stick to that. I felt in your first post and in this one that you were making presumptions about me that were not true. I do not appreciate it. Now that you know a little more about me, I hope it will be easier for you not to be concerned. Because I am doing well and I am on my perfect path. Thank you. Much Peace and Love :) |
