1st round 9
Quick question: How does the first tourney round work? I thought that I had read that the matches would be pre-arranged and sent out but I am seeing some requesting a 1st round opponents as well. Did I misunderstand or am I supposed to set up my 1st round opponent? Thanks, Jim

Nor'easter Round 1
Hello Nor'easter participants and would be participants. In an effort to make things easier for our players when the three tournament days of the Nor'easter arrive in March, we are endeavoring to try to get at least the first and possibly the first two rounds completed by the March 19th start date of the tournament proper. As such, I am already matching players up with the hope that they will be able to get the first round completed asap. Upon completion of round one, we will try to get round 2 in as well. Then there will only need to be one round per day from the 19th-21st. As such, those of you who have signed up, I have begun to match with opponents. All who have signed up should be matched within a couple of days. In the email I send out to you and your opponent, I will explain the process for picking round one selections and sides and sending them to me, so we can pare down the choices and get everyone matched up and ready to go. For those who have not signed up, it is not too late, but the sooner the better. We are following the method used at the Albany tournament this year, which reduced the wear and tear on the players considerably. Just posting this here as it is a departure from the original plan. I will be in touch shortly with all the registered participants. If you have any questions, please email me at chnogueira@.... You can signup for the Nor'easter Tournament at Yankee ASL (yankeegamers.org) I currently have 33 players with 32 of you matched up and one last player looking for an opponent. Should I be unable to find one, which I doubt, I will jump in and play. Thanks, Carl Nogueira

DB157 Morning Massacre SSR question 12
Good morning, My posting is around how SSR#1 impacts Interdiction. Situation: - SSR#1 says that "Due to dawn low visibility conditions, FFMO (A4.6) is NA for the scenario." - From A10.53 Interdiction: A routing unit which enters an Open Ground hex without Low Crawl, in both the LOS and Normal Range of an unbroken enemy unit capable of fire on it in that hex with at least one FP without any form of LOS Hindrance, is subject to a NMC and everything that normally entails. - From A10.54 Open Ground: For purposes of rout determination, Dash, concealment gain/loss, and Interdiction, an Open Ground hex is any hex in which the particular enemy unit(s) could apply, during a hypothetical Defensive First Fire opportunity (regardless of what attacks it actually made in previous phases), the -1 FFMO DRM. Conclusion: Due to SSR #1, units can now route across streets, etc. without the risk of Interdiction (assumes they follow all the other routing direction rules). Question: Is the conclusion correct? How are others interpreting this and playing it? Thanks, Derek

Nor'Easter 2021 in full swing 3
Hi Folks. Nor'Easter 2021 is in full swing and if you haven't heard, we started Round 1 early. Our goal is to get Round 1 and Round 2 done before we start the actual tournament dates. Therefore we are no longer taking on more players for this year's tournament. But please stay tuned as YASL pack #2 will be released soon in conjunction with the rest of the tournament in March. And we really hope we can be 'live' again in 2022. Roll low! Thanks!

Dispatches confirmation testing 4
Hello guys, we are in the home stretch on getting Dispatch #51 ready to be published by the end of next month. We have 2 scenarios left we would like to get confirmation playtests on: War to the Knife - Elite, German motorcycle troops sweep into take a town on the Crete coast but the locals are not so cooperative. Tourney sized action, we need a test or 2 to confirm. Delayed at Cogon - USA Army combined armed force is trying to take a key building on a hill on Leyte when MacArthur came back. Tough Japanese defense will be a hard nut to crack but can happen, we just need another set of eyeballs to confirm. I'll e-mail a pdf copy of whichever you want to try once I hear from you. Anyone who participates and submits a report by mid-March gets a free copy of #51 or one issue added onto their subscription. Thanks in advance for any takers, both scenarios are a blast to play, your ASL Comrade, VIc.

Nor'Easter Pack II Availability
Gentlemen, Please note that the Nor'Easter Pack II is available for shipping from Derek Ritter's Ritterkrieg site for shipping here in the U.S.. Please note that if you designed a scenario, I am working on the gratis copies with Xavier from LFT, so please do not order one yourself. The Nor'easter Pack II can be ordered here: Le Franc Tireur | HomePage (ritterkrieg.com). Should you be interested in the original Nor'Easter Pack, which was put out 5 years ago and unlike the Nor'easter II pack is in PDF form, please email me on the side. The cost is 15 dollars for that 13 scenario pack. Thanks, Carl
