Re: SOLVED! missing Menu Bar in High Sierra
My apologies for misunderstand. I didn¡¯t understand that you had an issue and were widening the inquiry. I didn¡¯t see relation between the two. I apologize. My issue had nothing to do with

Re: "widget" accidentally created???

Re: "widget" accidentally created???
Fine googe it. FYI, you can take a screenshot of just apart of your Desktop, by using the shortcut shift, control, 4, then defining the area you want with the crosshairs and clicking. Brent

Re: "widget" accidentally created???
It's a mess. It seems to be getting these from my iPhone. There's a barometer app shown under "edit widgets" (which I have only on my phone) etc. The gmail pic comes up every time I open safari, and

Re: "widget" accidentally created???
It's a widget. I'd rather not reveal my personal info. It's just a teeny weeny pic of what I normally see when I open gmail. But it's def a widget. It has an option to "edit widgets," but that doesn't

"widget" accidentally created???
There's now a tiny little picture of my gmail at the top left of my desktop. I'm guessing this is an accidentally created, so-called "widget". When I click on it, it disappears into a shadowy line on

Re: SOLVED! missing Menu Bar in High Sierra
Sorry, but I need to pursue this. To be clear, it will never work correctly via HDMI on that particular TV? AirPlay to our 2012 Sony Bravia via the Roku works very well. It appears in the Mac¡¯s top

BANG! BANG! BANG! I¡¯m trying to kill the thread. First, no response for 2 days, then replies after I posted that it was solved, yesterday, the replies started. Thanks for the effort, but as I said

Re: missing Menu Bar in High Sierra
Just a thought, but is AirPlay using the Roku any use for this, or is there just too much lag? Otto

Re: missing Menu Bar in High Sierra
With various early TVs, there may or not me a workaround. I am guessing the dividing line is if HDMI versions 1.2 or 1.4 are involved. In my case, I am using a 2009 Vizio and a Late 2012 Mac Mini.

Thanks, Pat. All is well. I called Apple Support and was walked through the (very simple) procedure to change the system password. Thanks, Dave

Re: missing Menu Bar in High Sierra
I guess it¡¯s not a workaround, but I find 1920 x 1080 is always available as an option and works on the old Sony TV, and that works fine. ?The problem is more that the TV will often ¡°tell¡± the

Re: missing Menu Bar in High Sierra
Thank you for confirming that it is a compatibility between the Mac and the TV using HDMI. Does it affect other means of connecting the two. My other option would be Lighting to VGA, which is doubtful

I had the same Mac on HIgh Sierra and had the same problem using a Sony tv as a monitor. From what I could find out, it¡¯s the TV that¡¯s the problem. ?There¡¯s some disagreement between Sony and
