Intel chip from the looks of it.

Which means you can upgrade both your memory & your storage.

If you’re running that close to the limits, you might want to double or quadruple your storage (256GB or 512GB). The amount of work is the same, just the product is different.

I’m guessing you’ve only got 8GB or RAM, so you might want to consider getting that upgraded while the shop have your system. 16GB or 32GB of RAM is always much more fun to place with.

Not knowing how technological you are, I’d probably take it to a shop to get it done.

I prefer Orion (based on Safari, but again, much more secure).

Clear off some files to an external device until you have at least 13GB free and see if your problem goes away.

If you list what sort of Mac you have, you may be able to upgrade your included storage, unless you’re on an Apple Silicon (M-Series processors) Mac.

I just ran the site on my M1 Pro, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD. Sequoia 15.1.1.

I have three windows open in Safari.

Opened a new tab @ kbzk.?
Came up immediately at approximately 150MB in Activity Monitor.
Went to the story about the $6.2 million banana taped to the wall.
Activity Monitor said Memory Usage went up to about 225MB and stayed stable.

I’ve got 1 window open in Orion (Safari codebase, but like Brave, much more secure).
Opened a new tab @ kbzk.?
Came up immediately at approximately 105MB in Activity Monitor.
Went to the story about the stupid ICC issuing arrest warrants for dead people.
Activity Monitor said Memory Usage went up to about 150MB and stayed stable.

While writing this email, without changing either tab, Activity Monitor had memory on both tabs at about 150MB.

Currently, I have Brave with 4 windows, DuckDuckGo with 1 window, Firefox with 1 Window, Orion with 1 Windo & Safari with 3 windows. Also Mail & jDownloader open.

Actually, I’ve got way more than just that open by the looks of things, although some of those are in the background.

Not sure this’ll help, but here you go!

The top kzbk is Orion. The second kzbk is Safari.

All pretty low considering.

When was the last time you ran a disk check Jim?

When was the last time you cleaned out your system using Onyx?

What about just cleaning Safari??

Hope this helps

Just to be pedantic, “the internet” isn’t spotty, your providers cell signal is spotty.

Might help a bit to give us some idea of:

Where do you live?

What is your phone model?

The Ryoko Pro is unlikely to get better cell signal without antennas, so “the internet” is still likely to be spotty!

The Ryoko device comes with a SIM card, like your cellphone, connects to the internet, and produces a Wifi hotspot your devices can use.

1. It’s a 4G cell device; its maximum Wifi speed is 150 Mbps. Any good 5G cellphone should get you faster internet.

2. The device costs $90.

3. It comes with a?Viaota SIM card. The minimum ongoing cost for that is $20 per month.
Ryoko Pro is compatible with any SIM card. You can easily use it to share an internet connection using another SIM card of your choice though the pre-installed Viaota SIM card comes with added benefits which include the ability to monitor your data usage directly on the device’s screen and automatic ad-blocking. These features are exclusive to the Viaota SIM card and will not be available if you choose to use a third-party SIM.

4. Battery life is 8 hours. Most modern cell phones are longer.

My brief search found no believable objective reviews.
I, personally, wouldn’t trust it to be worth the expense.

Hi, Louise. Not sure whether I’ll have an answer, but some more information might help. For example, what kind of Mac (detailed information can be obtained either from knowing its basics and placing information about it from the third party “MacTracker” app, or from “Machine Profile” from your installed apps into another message to the group, along with information about what version of macOS is installed on your machine. However, the amounts of memory in use according to your screenshot are NOT really high unless it’s a relatively old machine.

I’m occasionally having a possibly similar problem on an almost new Mac laptop, In my case, it looks as though an individual website is consuming an enormous amount of memory when Safari is the active browser. You can get more information about that by using a utility installed by the operating system, Activity Monitor. However, my attempts to solve my own problem have led me to realize that Activity Monitor does not track memory dedicated to a particular website.

I’d also suggest you consider using a different Chromium-based browser. Google Chrome is widely regarded by people who know much more than I as weaponized by Google to acquire as much information about you as possible for its own monetary purposes. Depending on how old you computer is, you might look at other Chromium-based browsers that don’t have that scurrilous reputation.

Sequoia Time Machine issues.

开云体育

Hi,

Several of my clients have had problems with Time Machine after the update. It goes approximately 85-95 % then fails with error messages?

I found this resolution, and it appears to resolve it:

Yes - the problem is very much related to Time Machine losing permissions to certain files when the machine sleeps. I've worked around this (until it's fixed) by making the following changes to power management:

sudo pmset -b hibernatemode 0

sudo pmset -b standby 0

sudo pmset -b disksleep 1

What this does is prevent the machine from fully hibernating. This will affect battery life a little if it's a laptop you regularly take about the place, but in general terms this is how MacOS -used- to operate.

If you aren’t experiencing the issue of Time Machine failing, feel free to ignore, but if you are, these Terminal commands have resolved it for three of my clients.

Hope it helps.

Yep! Looks like you figured out which web site. Now switch Activity Monitor from RAM to CPU Activity and look for which processes are using those CPU cycles.

Easiest fix, don’t visit that web site, but I understand why you might not want to do that.

Maybe someone can tell you how to diagnose what that web site is doing. Dennis, your thoughts?

Just a WAG, wild a?? guess. I have never heard of this kind of problem, so is something criminal going on by someone that might have hacked the site?

To test this, I closed ALL apps with a visible UI on my Mac except Finder, and leaving only two websites open in Safari before quitting from it before rebooting the computer.

After rebooting, I just left the computer running for 15-20 minutes without launching any apps other than Activity Monitor. RAM in use remained stable.

Then I launched Safari, and the two previous websites, each in its own window, reopened, and while the RAM usage by those two single-tab Safari windows creeps up a bit, the increments are small. Then, i open a third window to the home page of the TV station. It starts out using a bit over 500 MB of RAM, and within 5-6 minutes it’s consuming over 5 GIGABytes, while RAM usage by the two other windows (and the parent Safari process) has remained stable.

WHY this is happening, I have not a clue, but i cannot imagine it’s by design.
