Chrome is also one of the worst memory hogs as far as browsers go, and allows Google to track everything you do & everywhere you go!

Clear off some files to an external device until you have at least 13GB free and see if your problem goes away.
If you list what sort of Mac you have, you may be able to upgrade your included storage, unless you¡¯re on an Apple Silicon (M-Series processors) Mac.
