Re: iPad onboard key pad hitch

Bev, thank you very much, I did the floating keyboard fix and it seems to be alright now.
I had already done the latest update etc. ?I had also messaged at the Apple users help forum but had not replies.
Thank you so much for reaching out to me. ? Cynthia in Uk

More thoughts on the matter:

Have you applied all OS updates? ?Is your iPad at the latest version of iPadOS 17? ?Can you upgrade to iPadOS 18? ?If you can upgrade to iPadOS 18 and the problem persists, then you could try contacting Apple Support.

If you can’t find any other solution, then try doing a forced restart. ?Exit all apps before doing it to prevent data loss.

If you can’t resolve the issue, report it to Apple:

Tony,

Samsung Magician 7 is software, Samsung T7 is an SSD, or hardware, What model of MBPare you using and what macOS are you running?

Look at this article from Apple, as one of the replies indicates one type of cable may not provide enough power, but another type might.

I do see that it’s downloadable from their website (presuming that this is the same app that you mentioned.

Other than that, I would recommend contacting Samsung for support for their app. ?

The blue light on the T7 is on but when I click on the T7 program icon on Launchpad, nothing happens. I then clicked on the Time Machine icon and clicked on Back Up Now & it completed the backup. Any advice on how I can get the icon back and open the program?

Depending on the new one, and the old one, you may be able to boot the old one into Target Mode, connect the two, and wipe and reformat the drive in the old one using Disk Utility in the new one.
Yes, and this won’t help this time but is something to think about going forward: some (many?) of us keep bootable clone backups. If the worst happens, we can boot the Mac from the clone and then reformat the Mac’s drive, reinstall the OS, etc. These days you can buy 1 TB portable SSD drives such as the Samsung T7 for not much money.

Try Internet Recovery:

? Power on your Mac (or restart if already on).
? Press and hold the Cmd + Option + R keys immediately on hearing the startup chime.
? Keep the keys pressed down until you see the Internet Recovery message on the screen: Starting Internet Recovery. This may take a while.
? Follow the prompts to complete the recovery process.
