Hi, Bev, For more than 2 decades I¡¯ve had a few email accounts with a homegrown ISP and Internet infrastructure company based in Santa Rosa, CA called . The company was started by 2 guys who were in college in Santa Rosa back even before aDSL was a thing. When it was legal to do so, they leased POTS lines from ATT to provide aDSL service until AT&T finally figured out that sonic was doing a better local job than ATT was and cut them off. They¡¯ve since gone into the infrastructure business as well as ISP business, and they¡¯ve now installed symmetrical fiber service for several SF Bay Area and North Bay communities, but for reasons I don¡¯t know, when several of their home town Santa Rosa neighborhoods were incinerated by the Tubbs PG&E-caused wildfire in 2017, The ¡°big boys (ATT, Comcast, etc.) managed to freeze them out of infrastructure provision. They did do this for Google when Google updated their headquarters campus a decade or so ago. They¡¯ve been a reliable provider for me. When I moved away from Santa Rosa I was able to continue having them host IMAP email accounts, and that¡¯s what my wife uses primarily, with no real issues. They do have storage caps (I think it¡¯s about 5 GB), above which they¡¯ll ramp up their account fees (the base charge for email only is somewhere around $4-$6 per month. However, I just looked at their website, and it¡¯s possible they no longer offer email only services except to legacy ISP customers who no longer live where they provide the ¡°pipes."
