There is a software package that is already part of VM/CE called XNET.? This software allows two or more VM/370 systems to connect via a CTC device (using Hercules CTCE, not CTCI), and you can then remotely logon to and use the VM system(s) on the other end of the CTCs, and vice versa.? Communication can even pass through multiple VM systems to your target system if they are all connected via CTC.? This software is something akin to PVM (Passthrough VM, an IBM product from the period).

But to send files or messages between VM systems, you'll need the RSCS NJE modifications.
