I have about a dozen spray guns for various?uses. Maybe more. You're welcome to use any of them or I can paint your coupons if David isn't available.

?

I would not use an airbrush. The nozzle is too small to get good coverage and it won't lay down the paint the same as a bigger gun. If there is any metallic flake in the paint the airbrush may not even spray it. The TDS for your paint system will give a recommended nozzle size (1.3, 1.4, 1.8 or whatever).

?

The gravity fed guns don't waste much paint (whatever sticks to the sides). If you're using a 2k paint you have to throw out whatever you catalyze regardless.

?

You probably know this already but be sure to prep your coupons the same as you would the RV4 for final paint. Scuff, alodine, primer, whatever you plan on doing. Then follow the same paint schedule as in the TDS (coats, drying times, wet mils, etc). The base has a quite big effect especially on some of the less opaque colors (reds, oranges, yellows, even some whites). I'd also put a very slight bend in the coupons. There are rarely truly flat surfaces on a plane and a flat coupon can look different than a curved one,?especially with metallics.

I have this simple setup I've used for quite a few small area jobs (e.g., hobbies, models).

If you have liqiud samples, this allows a simple filling of a glass bottle to enable spraying it with the propellant which entrains the paint up through a small 'straw' of the sample bottle to the tiny spray gun nozzle.

There is still a lot of work left in this kit to do. I’m guessing at least 40 hours to pull the old harness and install this one and a blanking plate in the radio stack.?
