Good morning, Mark,

Thinner is always better for these small pick-up tube air-type guns.? Acrylic enamel is common for car paint.? It is very thin...as thin as, possibly thinner (viscosity-wise) than water.

While I haven't painted a plane (yet?), I see that Polyurethane (PU) is common -- no experience with how thick that is or what is used to thin it, however.

I also have two can-type air guns if you want to give them a whirl with a small compressor.

If you have liqiud samples, this allows a simple filling of a glass bottle to enable spraying it with the propellant which entrains the paint up through a small 'straw' of the sample bottle to the tiny spray gun nozzle.
