开云体育Hi Keith It's the sheet for Compartment 368 with grave numbers. There are two people buried in it (1948 & 1952). Lin On 20/08/2023 15:21, Keith Dorey via

Re: Hull Burial Registers
Hello Lin,
Do you mean the burial numbers, rather than the grave numbers, as the grave numbers are the number of the square and are the same for all compartments. It could be that the burials were after the date of filming by LDS in 1994, so would show as an empty square. Regards Keith |
Hull Burial Registers
Can SKS point me in the right direction to find a grave plan for Northern Cemetery, Hull?
I've found most of the ones I need but one is eluding me. Compartment 368 Grave 27 Pages are missing, out of order. Using Finally found page 368 (with help of FS) but no grave numbers. Help! Lin |

开云体育Thank you, Arthur. My guesses on most were close, but it’s good to have confirmation, as well as a couple of words which stumped me. Ken? On Aug 3, 2023, at 11:39 AM, Arthur K <kengen@...> wrote:

The word after Ebor (York) is Generosus, with contractions, meaning Gentleman. On the next line is Et (And); usually there was another bondsman as well as the groom, whose name would be inserted here, but there clearly wasn't in this case.
At the bottom on the left are the ages and a bit more: Ille aet[atis] 24 - He is aged 24 Illa de ead[em] aet[atis] 23 - She is of the same [parish], aged 23 These are roughly bracketed together, and followed by the parishes where the marriage may take place - Foston, Crambe or ('vel') Slingsby Finally, jur[atur] cor[am] D[omi]no Canc[ellario] - sworn before the Lord Chancellor |
help with handwriting
开云体育I would appreciate assistance with the handwriting, especially the pseudo Latin, on the attached jpg. I have no problem reading the name of the groom at the top: “William Bell of Foston in County of York”, but don’t want to guess at the next 2 (3?) words. ? Also, the 3 lines at the bottom of the page: I think I understand the first 2 lines, but don’t want to guess at any of this.? The marriage was actually performed at Foston (I have the image). ? Any suggestions gratefully received … Ken Harrison |

Nidderdale records
Arthur K
The recent query about the wording of a memorial in Hampsthwaite reminded me that a lot of records for Hampsthwaite and other places in and around Nidderdale have been transcribed and made available, completely free, on the Calverley Info website - http://www.calverley.info/calv_enter.htm (link at bottom of page)
It's not the most obvious place to look for records for that area, so I thought it was worth mentioning. Arthur |

Re: Horsforth Peace Garden
开云体育thank you Lesley, will try them as they are always helpful. The biggest mystery is finding David FARRER d. 1752in Horsforth’s birthday. He married in Horsforth in 1721 and his wife Christiana Turner was born 1720. I cant find any record anywhere of him. He must have come from another area.? When they got married it said they were of this parish. Regards, Maureen

开云体育Thanks for sending the photo, Lin. I logged in again, and still no photo on the groups.io page.? The messages I see are all landscape, while the copy you sent me is portrait.? I can’t find a way to open just a single message. ? Anyway, I agree that the name is ANN.? As others have said, it is more lightly incised than other writing on the stone, and the sun’s angle was such that all the \ strokes are faint, even on the other Ns and Ms. Ken ?
