This is unacceptable, and your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities. ? In response to this scourge of hate, Representatives Mike Lawler (R-NY) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) ?introduced the Antisemitism Awareness Act. This bill would require the U.S. Department of Education to utilize the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition. ? Passing this legislation will help turn the tide in the fight against campus antisemitism and give Jewish students the justice and peace of mind they deserve on campus.? |

We are all aware of the situation in Eretz Yisroel and we pray constantly for relief and for salvation.
?
There is another aspect to the situation that has not gotten as much?attention. The government is cutting funding to Yeshivos and Kollelim. While in no way minimizing the power of prayer with respect to this situation as well, we can do more.
?
The Shul has joined the Adopt-a-Kollel program and partners with a Kollel in Yerushalayim to help with its support. I am proud to be associated with this program.
?
At this time, it would be appropriate for those who have not yet signed up to provide a monthly contribution - to sign up and be counted. Those who are already contributing - please consider increasing your monthly contribution, or even making a one-time?donation. All donations are important.

Special Sanitation Collection for Passover 2024
Brooklyn Community Board 14 is pleased to announce that Department of
Sanitation Commissioner Jessica Tisch has approved additional
Sanitation collection services in portions of the district to assist
residents in preparation for Passover observances, which commence at
sundown on Monday, April 22, 2024. The plan provides for additional
collection services.

REFUSE:
- For areas with regular collection on Monday/Thursday, there will be an extra pick up on Friday, April 19.
- For areas with regular collection on Wednesday/Saturday and Tuesday/Friday, there will be an extra pick up on Monday, April 22.
RECYCLING:
In these special collection zones, there will also be an additional
recycling collection on Monday, April 22 beginning at midnight. All
recycling materials must be placed at curbside on the evening of Sunday,
April 21 for collection on Monday, April 22 from 12:00 midnight to 8:00
am. For additional recycling collection in limited areas, please refer
to the map below or contact the CB14 office for details.
BULK:
The Department of Sanitation requires appointments for removal of
refrigerators, water coolers, freezers, and air conditioners. Call 311
or visit to make these collection appointments.
In order to ensure pick-up before the holiday, it is suggested that
residents schedule pick-ups for appliances by Friday, April 12. It is
important to prepare early and utilize sanitation services the week
before the holiday for bulk items to avoid an excessive volume of debris
that could impede planned schedules. All mattresses placed out for
collection must be sealed in plastic. Failure to do so will result in a
summons.

The burial did not take place in Israel until after dark on Wednesday, so shiva will continue until Wednesday morning.

Bonnie and her sons Josh and Yaakov will be returning from Israel Thursday evening, and sitting shiva in her apartment from Friday until Tuesday morning.
