help using the uber web site to ask questions before I can use the service
Hello all,
I am new to this llist and hope some one can answer this question and give me some one instructions. My knowledge of the iphone is still very basic, and it will be a long while yet before I'm comfortable using the uber app on it. So this is not yet an option for me. However, because of the limited nature and ability of public transportation in my area to help me in all times, places and circumstances I would like to explore Uber as an alternative. I created a presence on uber by signing in with my google account so I can start using the uber web-site more.uber.com but don't know where to go next as a beginning user who has no clue where he's going and would like to contact uber support to ask questions. I want to research pricing, etc., before I make a decision about using it for a trip somewhere. But I'm not sure how to find myself various places using Jaws. There doesn't seem to be a "contact us," option where I can type a question and get a response from some one on how to do some things. What am I missing? I can't find that option on the site unless I'm not clicking the right place. Where do I go to ask about pricing options, etc., before using my first ride? At the top of the page it says "plan your uber journey." Arrowing down it says "uber, car front graphic ride, keys car rent, restaurant, eat, receipt graphic my trips, Ryan graphic (Ryan's my name), chevron down small graphic, main region. Heading level 1 get a ride, plan your uber journey document collapsed, pick-up location, drop-off, then it comes up with some locations, report map set location, etc. No tuturial or anything. I need links for pricing from my home to various areas and various mile options, for example three miles vs. fifteen. This will enable me to know just how expensive it is going through Kalispell, Montana compared with going to Bigfork, Montana, twenty minutes away. Where is this info? Blind people report Uber working fine on phones, but I'm not to that place yet. I rely on web-sites still. What do you on this list suggest I do? Using the tab key it says clock pick now chevron, person for me chevron down small, plan your uber journey document, and that's it. Is uber just not practical to use without a phone? Please let me know my options as a first time user who is not able to use his phone yet and how I should use the site, or if it even can be used and how to do it. God bless and have a good day, Ryan Coverdell P.S. I am willing to talk by phone to any one who e-mails me I will give that information if I believe it will help. |
Re: Scanning License Plates with OCR Apps?
开云体育Hi Jake, something else you could do too, is use envision to take a picture of the vehicle as well. Re: Scanning License Plates with OCR Apps?
开云体育Seeing AI with the short text setting will do it but you have to get behind the car and point the phone in the right direction. Well maybe you live in one of the states that requires front and license plates and then you can get in front of the car and get the license plate. I have never bothered with license plates with Uber or Lyft. The car pulls in and the driver calls my name so I know it is the right car. I also may ask the driver for his or her name, which I already have from the app to verify that it is the right car.John Harden For Quality Perkins Braille Writer Repair jharden115@...

Scanning License Plates with OCR Apps?
Hi all. Subject pretty much sums it up. There's a backstory to this, but I'll get right to the question. Can any of the scanning apps such as Seeing AI and Be My Eyes detect the license plates of these vehicles? I *might* start taking Uber or Lyft to church on Sundays. This will most likely be a work in progress. Tia for anyone's assistance with this.

开云体育Hello guys, I know that this is a draft process, but I wanted to alert everybody to what is going on currently right now at groups io. And I'm hoping that most of you if not all of you, Will encourage other members to at least log into their accounts, so that they could stay verified. And if you're an owner of a group, you should be checking your members for sure. My plan is in the next day or so, to check and see if there are any of you that are unverified I know on some of my groups, that I run myself, I have old addresses that are in bouncing status and some of those people have either not unsubscribe with those email addresses and applied with new ones or chose to go in an active status. So I recommend reading this all the way through and checking to see if your subscription for any of your groups is affected. Please read the below to get more information

Re: Complaints
Somebody on one of the list, said that you can go onto the trip, and there is a button to report the driver. But it also I think depends on which app you're using as to whether this option is available. And I'm very sorry that this happened.

The office I was at is a place where I’ve taken Lyft to many times in the past. I’m particularly mad at the second driver as he couldn’t be bothered to even try and have his GPS try and locate me. I can’t find out where to file a complaint as I don’t want to be charged for the first two rides where the drivers couldn’t find me. |

Re: hello
开云体育I don't use Lyft much or actually I guess I really don't use Lyft at all however I do use Uber a lot and every trip I receive an email from Uber that could be saved in a folder just for transportation and then you would be able to retrieve whatever information you need when you need it. I am totally blind and find the Uber app on my iPhone very accessible. My wife is somewhat technologically challenged and she uses the Uber app on her iPhone without much problem.

Re: hello
What kind of information are you wanting to retrieve? If something about your trip history look under your account, you shall find something about your trip history.

Re: hello
Paratransit sucks everywhere. I got offered a job that starts at a local university in the fall, and the O&M person told me about the options for either paratransit or the regular bus set up to the college, and I’m going to just use Lyft because the deal is the same no matter what I use. This brings me to another question and that is is there a way of retrieving information on some Lyft rides that I can get to write off at the end of the year.

开云体育Hello Jen, welcome aboard. I am the sole owner of this group. And I am glad to have you here. I'm sorry that Lyft is not available in your area but I'm glad that you've had some successful trip with Uber. I created this group a while ago, because people wanted to discuss the challenges and end issues of both services. But it never has really taken off but I am glad that there is some traffic now.
