That's one thing Hans does right: He doesn't release stuff until he's convinced it's bullet-proof. He had an SSB rig at the 2018 (?) YOTA conference in Africa, so it's not like he hasn't been fooling around with it for a while. He does use Class E in the QCX family, so that wouldn't surprise me. I'm not at all surprised that his update works.
