Re: OW is crashing attempting to process SER or FIT files with big images with a lot of p¨ªxels
OW ? Probably Tangra is the SW you mean ...
jan ? ______________________________________________________________ I realized this before but in the last times, due the increasing of observers with equipment not fully suitable for occultations, is happening every time more. Could you check and, if it is possible, fix or mitigate that issue? I am able to send you a SER file with 29 images from one of my colleagues. Thanks in advance and regards, Carlos |

Hi hristo (and all),
I realized this before but in the last times, due the increasing of observers with equipment not fully suitable for occultations, is happening every time more. Could you check and, if it is possible, fix or mitigate that issue? I am able to send you a SER file with 29 images from one of my colleagues. Thanks in advance and regards, Carlos |
Re: Event Filter distance option not work.
If there are events involving asteroids with known or suspected moons, then there is a feature that would include all events where a satellite could fall within your selected range. Is this the case for you? If not then please run DebugView with 'EventFilters' set to 4 as described here: then send me the log files and I should be able to tell you why you may be seeing more events. Hristo.

Re: Stopped Receiving Notifications from OccultWatcher Yesterday
OK, did some experimenting today. Changed my OW email from @vtext.com to @mac.com and emails are coming through now. When I set up autoforwarding, they come through to my phone. When I set up redirect instead, they do not. Sounds like Verizon is blocking emails from plannerservice@... now for some reason--without notifying me in any way nor providing me with a spam folder to review what has been blocked. I'll call them tomorrow... Dave |
Re: Stopped Receiving Notifications from OccultWatcher Yesterday
I tend to agree with Chris that the problem doesn't seem to be with my email service. I have my OccultWatcher notifications sent as SMS text messages to my Verizon flip phone (@vtext.com) so that I can receive immediate notifications of stations canceled or new stations added--without having to check my regular email constantly. Logging into my Verizon account to view the SMS texts that way, I don't even have a spam folder. Dave |

Re: Can't prefill a report.
Hi Tom, If you have reported positive or negative the button should be enabled. Wondering if it was a refresh problem after you reported positive/negaite i.e. if it was needed to select the event again and try again. I don't see any other reason why this should not be working. Hristo.

Hristo,
To answer your questions: My thought process was to first report that an observation was made but since a positive or negative result may not be found until after processing,?I initially chose "Observed - report to follow".? Now that I can see a positive event, choosing "Report a positive" does not allow prefilling the spread sheet. ?
Selecting the event shows "There is currently 1 announced station for this event. 1 of them is yours."? I'm assuming that means it was announced to others.

Re: Can't prefill a report.
Hi Tom, Did you actually report to OW the result of your observation first as was this a positive detection or a negative? You can only prefill the report form if you have actually observed i.e. report forms for Clouded Out observations are not currently enabled. Could that be the problem? Also is this a 'proper' My Event where you have selected an observation location and have announced it to everyone else, or is it a 'Follow up' event where you effectively have not selected a location and have not picked an observing site? Hristo.

Re: Fw: advanced options being tried
Hi Paul, I receive your emails from the group so they must be getting through in the end. Uninstalling and re-installing OW has absolutely no effect, if you had it previously installed. The nuclear option is to: 1) Purge database from Configuration -> Other options -> Advanced -> Maintenance -> Purge Database 2) (after the restart from (1)) Reset configurtation from Configuration -> Other options -> Advanced -> Maintenance -> Reset Configuration If you do those two you will be starting all clear as long as OW is concerned. You will need to enter your account, sites, config again however. If doing this fixes your problem, you wouldn't know what has caused it (or how to prevent it in the future). The only way to eventually find out what may be going wrong is to obtain the DebugView logs as per my previous email. Hristo.

Hi Paul, Looks like feed events are available for your selected feeds and also other people seem to be seeing those events. My recommendation would be to try and reproduce the problem on another computer as well, but generally I don't suspect a problem related to OccultWatcher software bug (but cannot rules this out completely). May be it is a problem with an antivirus software or other environmental issues with your computer. As per my previous email without more debug info I would not be able to tell more. Here is how to obtain the additional info: - Please
provide DebugView log files of your feed synchronisation process () for one feed for which you are missing events - Also provide DebugView logs when EventFilters trace flag set to true (). You can set the flag as described there and just do one single test from Feed Sync to completed OW analysis and OW showing no events. If you send me the logs I will look at them and try to provide further advice. If you end up identifying the root cause of the issue and/or manage resolve it, please let us know what the issue was and what you did to fix it. Good luck! Hristo.

If anyone has an idea why OW is not updating I would appreciate it. I have made no configuration adjustments at all in the past year or so and yet it stopped at January 6. I have selected all feeds except for Comets and all feeds for events outside the USA including Trans Tasman, IBEROC, ITAL, UKOC,?which I had never selected.? Again, no changes to any of the control parameters which have been working fine all year and in the past so this is a complete mystery. In the advanced options: local data base size is 91Mb, events older than 14 days is 0.1Mb, cached data size 1.5Mb. I cannot change my email address in this group. Please reply directly to me at pdmaley@... thanks, Paul |
