Oberwessel Monday, 1984
111 127-7 leads a shorter than normal IC at Oberwessel. The 111 is in the paint scheme of the Ruhr regional service, which is a bit reminiscent of the old WP scheme. This was the only time I saw a 111 leading an IC train along the Rhein. Usually ICs had 103s. DB ran 110s and 112s on ICs for the short run between Frankfurt and Wiesbaen, where there were reversals at both stations. 11 Sept 1984 Mike Tisdale |

BNSF local northbound Elvas, Sacramento, California 31 Aug 2012? GE B40-8W and EMD GP60M The train has trackage rights on Union Pacific from Stockton to Sacramento, allowing it to use UP track to reach customers in Sacramento.? Before the UP takeover the SP, ATSF and BNSF considered the Central California Traction Company to be their friendly connecting road between Sacramento and Stockton, allowing the Santa Fe to serve Sacramento indirectly via the CCT.? After the UP-SP merger, BNSF got trackage rights on the UP lines in the area and started running their own train to Sacramento on UP's Fresno Sub (ex-SP) and the CCT is out of service north of Lodi. Lyntog Wednesday, 1984
Lyntog 469 on the eastbound Kongeaen to Copenhagen with what might be IC 163 on the left. The Kongean had sections from Struer via Esbjerg in western Jutland and Sanderborg in south eastern Jutland. IC 163 was a Copenhagen Arhus train, so this cross plaform connection allowed passengers from the Lyntog to connect to points north. Federicia, Denmark 17 August 1984 Mike Tisdale |

Yes, Phil.?? In an old Trains magazine, there is a Herb Sullivan photo of a cab forward on an eastbound freight taken by Herb about where I was standing for that shot of the Zephyr.?? The photo shows a compound MC engine, so it dates to the 1910s or 1920s.?? I think the issue is from the late 60s, one of the All Steam issues with an article about cab forwards Mike Tisdale
