So, after a quick run to Home Despot, I can report that the Scotch ¡°Extremely Strong¡± stuff¡ªadhesive on one side, Velcro-like on the other side¡ªis indeed ¡°extremely strong¡±. I believe that

Re: from arrl letter -- what do you think?
All of my KH6 buddies will tell you that limiting FD stations to 150w is the kiss of death for them. They all run 500-1500w just to get a signal past the West Coast on any band other than 15 and 10m.

Re: from arrl letter -- what do you think?
Yea, but anyone can throw a dipole up and get on from home in an ¡°emergency-like¡± setup. Tons of 1A or 1B operations would be better IMHO than tons of 1D, and all can still play. But if they keep

Great Dave. Field Day is about emergency preparedness and how to maximize your effectiveness in the field given minimal setup time to simulate a real need. Take that out of it and the event is

I¡¯m going to respond to ARRL too. I would like to do away with home stations working other home stations for points. In that world, high power stations with the best antennas money can buy and

I thought about this for a short minute, and I think that they should try adding a "bragging rights" score: a second score calculated differently. Unique to the FD callsign, there is a

Somewhat progressive for the ARRL, I thought, at least they were seeking feedback. I think the more the merrier should be encouraged/motivated to participate in FD, whether from home or not.? AE4TQ?
