Re: Question for the experts

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

So, after a quick run to Home Despot, I can report that the Scotch ¡°Extremely Strong¡± stuff¡ªadhesive on one side, Velcro-like on the other side¡ªis indeed ¡°extremely strong¡±.? I believe that would make the grade for seismically qualified in the nuclear world.? Haven¡¯t tried it, but I think I could pick up the rack by pulling up on the hockey pucks.?

?

Thanks for the suggestions.?

?

If I run out of the Scotch stuff, I¡¯ll try the commander stuff.? Looks much the same, buy the Velcro part is not as thick.?

Ok, thanks Eric, Tom, and Jeff.? Home Depot has the Command Strips and the Scotch extremely strong strips.? I¡¯ll grab some of those and give them a try.? If two on each hockey puck isn¡¯t enough, I¡¯ll try four.? ?

?

I guess these are like removable two-sided tape. ?Wonder what gives first, the Velcro or the adhesive.?

Dave,

?

Try some of the Command Velcro strips on the bottom. You can still move it if necessary and it will come off if you want to change it around.

?

?

Thanks,

Subject: [N4N-Field-Day] Question for the experts

?

Gents,

I¡¯m trying to neaten up the back of the rack panels and make some order out of cables and such.? One thing I¡¯m struggling with is what to do with a half dozen or so small-ish, lightweight accessory boxes that keep sliding around (and off of) the shelves every time I need to attach/remove/move a cable¡ªthings like the network switch, USB hubs, and several monitor power supplies (~3in. vy 3in. and 1 inch thick with AC power cable in, DC power cable out).? Every push or pull of a cable sends them scurrying, and they can¡¯t be stacked neatly without falling over.

?

So what do you folks do to mount these little devices?? None have mounting holes.? I can¡¯t find any brackets made for holding them, but not knowing what to call such a device, I may not be searching for the right thing.? I¡¯ve tie-wrapped a USB hub to a rack rail¡ªnot elegant, but it works.? But that doesn¡¯t work well for the monitor power supplies.?

?

There must be a common solution to this.
