Need some help learning outlook 2019. 3
Hello, from long time JAWS user Ron Kolesar. Kolesar16417@... <mailto:Kolesar16417@...> In short, I've been a Windows live mail user and love WLM. But WLM is starting to crash user's mail left and right. I tried u sing Thunder Bird and didn't like it. So, I'm learning how to use outlook 2019 with jaws. In short, when I do a message rule within WLM, in the first column I down arrow until I see where to and cc line contains people, which I make sure is checked. My first question here is, is there something similar to the above from WLM within outlook? Also, could you walk me through to set up a rule for each of my subscriptions? For example, when you reply to this letter, you'll go into the Ron's Mailbox, because, the kolesar16417@... <mailto:kolesar16417@...> address is triggered to go to the Ron's Mailbox. I also have a mailbox for each of all of my subscriptions as well. Here's hoping I can learn how to use outlook 2019 like I did with WLM. I need to desperately learn a third party mail package because the mail part of Spectrum AKA Roadrunner mail isn't all that screen reader friendly. So far, I found out via a few you tube videos that to send and receive is f9 and to simply send is alt s. I also figured out to go to the different mailboxes AKA Folders, we do a ctrl y then we're able to do first letter navigation. But for now, I need to go to the wLM address book, because even though I had the accessibility help desk assist me in setting up outlook and my contacts, I still can't use my first few auto fill for pluggin in an address. How can I turn that featur on, within outlook 2019? Also, for all of my fellow ham radio friends, I have their call sign in the nickname field and I then can simply start typing in the call sign and the name and address pops up with in the to field so that I may then go to subject and body to write the letter. Can anyone help me with this as well? Within WLM it is f5 to send and receive and in outlook it is f9. Within WLM to go down to each of your mailboxes, you simply just down arrowed. Is there a easier way to go to a folder within outlook other than doing a ctrl y then the first letter of the title of the folder? How to create a mailbox AKA folder and subfolders as well? I have a few extra folders when I perform the ctrl d and or simply just the delete key on the calculator keypad doesn't remove the folder. Now, I can removed messages, but can't remove folders. How can I remove the extra folders? In WLM, I only had to press the little delete key on the calculator keypad. Now I've tried ctrl and the letter D like I found, but that only deletes messages and not extra mailboxes. Now, also, how can I tell if the mailbox should be in the list of folders? For example, I have a send folder, a send items folder and a send mail folder. Which one of the three above should I kill if any? Also, I need to have my signature AKA tag line at the bottom of my mail as well. Many thanks from a JAWS user who's trying to learn a new mail package. office 365 with nvda. 2
Hi. Does anyone know where I can find an accessible tutorial for office 365 and nvda particularly powerpoint? Thanks Damien. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Ron Kolesar Sent: 24 September 2020 03:53 To: [email protected] Subject: [office-accessibility] A thank you letter. For those who attempted to help me out, I deeply appreciate the help that was given. I was on the phone with the disability help desk for about two hours. Now four last questions. At least I hope so. SMILES. 1. I know it is either ctrl and the letter d and or via the small delete key that's on the calculator keypad will delete messages. 2. But how can one kill off mailboxes AKA folders? I tired to use the applications key to down arrow to the delete with no luc, and I've tried without using the applications key to use just the delete key and a ctrl d combo, as well with no success. If I could figure out how to kill off some folders and only leave the important folders as I rebuild my mailboxes would be deeply appreciated. I at least have move all of my mail back into the inbox for now. 3. Can anyone help me to create a message rule once again? When in WLM the first column that was in the rule I always made sure that where the to or cc line contains people was always checked. I'd like to be able to do message rules within outlook as well. 4. One last item. Can anyone also assist me in creating a signature aka tag line as well? Again, with deep appreciation for all of the help. Ron who's still learning how to use the outlook mail package

Why can't I read my mail in my Ron's Mailbox? 6
Hi once again from new Outlook 2019 user Ron Kolesar. Now the good news is that I can do a ctrl y and then either via first letter nav or down arrowing, I can 1. see all of my mailboxes. 2. When down arrowing down the list of boxes, I can see how many messages are unread in the mailboxes as well. When I go to my inbox, it automatically opens for me and I can see and read all of the messages within that folder. Now for the bad news But when I down arrow to the Ron's mailbox, I see how many messages are in the box and how many are still unread. But it: 1. Doesn't automatically open up the mailbox so that I may see all of my mail. 2. So, I can't click on any of the messages to read them. Any thoughts on why I can only read the mail that's in the inbox? Many thanks. Ron who was hoping that Outlook 2019 was as easy as WLM was.

Microsoft Word Tables 4
Hi, I Have a table which is three columsn wide. I Have changed the page orientation to landscate to try to make the table more readable e.g. stop the cells wrapping around. It is still wrapping, is there something in the table properties that I can use so that it will automatically format the table and try to stop some of the wrapping around rather than having to set each column width? * This message may contain confidential information. message width problem in Outlook 2016
Hi all, I am new to the group and here's a question. I am totally blind and use Jaws 2020. I recently switched from a computer with Windows 7 and Office 2013 to one with Windows 10 and Office 2016. People are reporting to me that the Outlook emails I send them are suddenly now very narrow, maybe taking up only about two thirds the width of their screen, while before when I was using Outlook 2013 they looked normal width. In my Outlook options compose mail settings area it has a width set at 76 characters which must be the default line width and when I looked this up on the internet if anything this is a bit wider than what's recommended. If I count over 76 characters it is admittedly only about two thirds of a computer screen (while if you count a normal screen width display it's something over 100 characters) but I assume each recipient's computer is supposed to wrap the words according to their screen setup but for some reason that's not happening when they receive my emails in particular. When I forward a received email from someone else, that does appear normal line width to others, so have I done something wrong in my compose mail settings? Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Could use some outlook 2019 help please.
Hello, to my fellow Office access subscribers. In short, I was on the phone with the disability hotline most of yesterday. I'm still receiving mail in my Windows Live Mail instead of going into my outlook 2019 mail package. How can I stop this so that the mail that I send and receive goes into outlook 2019. I even just shipped a test message to myself while using outllok and it still showed up in the windows live mail account. How can I stop this? Many thanks from one frustrated outlook 2019 user. Would anyone know how to do a message rule?
Hello to all. Would appreciate it if anyone would know how to create a message rule, to ship that knowledge my way please. In WLM, it was oh so easy. You had four columns from left to right. The first column I always down arrowed until I saw Where To or CC contains people. I always made sure that one was checked. I think I'm stuck on step two within Outlook's message rules instructions. If anyone could show me via keyboard commands the following: 1. where the name of the rule goes. 2. Where the e-mail address for that rule goes. 3. How to make sure the mail has a audio sound and goes into the correct mailbox. Many thanks. replying to a message privately? 7
I¡¯m using office 2019, when I hit reply, it goes to the entire group. How do I send a message privately. I thought to send to a group you would hit ¡°reply to all¡± Years ago when this would happen with other email programs I was told the group was not set up properly and that¡¯s why it was not working correctly. Some Questions About Dealing With Tables, and lists In Word 2016 and Jaws 2020 2
Good morning everyone. My name is Owais, and I have some questions regarding tables in any apps, particularly, Word 2016. 1. How do I add a table, and from there add more rows and collumns to it? 2. Should tables be left justified, centered, or, right justified on a page? 3. What are the steps to adding a tittle for each cell? To clarify, some tables have a cell above the one under it which indicates the informwhn that needs to be entered in the cell bel? How do I do th? 4. How can I copy the entire table including the text it contains all at once? Lists: 1. What are the steps to inserting a bulleted list in my document, so that screen readers like Voiceover, Jaws etc will indicate when a list begins or ends? Thank you very much and have an awesome day. Sincerely, Owais

Migrating Outlook contact from broken computer to new computer 9
Hello Listers: Last month, I discovered that laptops do not survive when a pint of beer is spilled onto their keyboard. Having replaced the laptop and extracted the hard drive from the broken computer and placing it into a USB reader, I am able to read the hard drive¡¯s contents. I want to migrate the contacts from the broken computer¡¯s hard drive to my new laptop. The email account uses IMap, so no .PST file has been created, only a .OST file is present. Reading documentation on the web, I did not find any articles describing extracting contact information from a .OST file. Do any of you know of a tool that may allow me to extract contacts from a .OST file? This certainly does not seem to be supported by Microsoft. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/find-and-transfer-outlook-data-files-from-one-computer-to-another-0996ece3-57c6-49bc-977b-0d1892e2aacc I am running Office 365 and updated copies of Windows 10 home. Thanks, Rick

Monthly Reminder: List Guidelines
Any suggestions or comments regarding these guidelines should be sent to me privately and not to the list. You can always use the Reply to Sender link to facilitate this. Due to my work schedule please understand that I do not answer personal emails immediately so please be patient if you need a response. Any Office-specific question should be sent to the list and not to me privately. Hello, Welcome to the [email protected] group at Groups.io, a free, easy-to-use email group service. Please take a moment to review this message. This group is for asking questions and providing support for any Microsoft Office product. This includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook as well as other Office products. Versions can include Office 2016, 2019 or the Microsoft 365 subscription service. While anyone is welcome to ask questions regarding older versions please understand that the older the version being discussed the less likely you are to receive good support. If you've discovered any tips, tricks or techniques to use Office more effectively please share what you have learned. The rules for this list are fairly simple and straightforward. 1. Please be kind to others and exercise courtesy at all times. Treat others the way that you would want to be treated. I do not tolerate inappropriate conduct from those who violate this simple request. 2. Please keep messages on topic. This is not a general chat list and I don't want to see people leaving the list due to off-topic messages. 3. Please try to add a reasonable amount of detail in the subject of your message. A subject such as "question" or "Word is driving me crazy" is not helpful to people who are skimming for subjects which are of interest or for those who are searching the list archives. Appropriate subjects, such as "Problem in Creating a Bulleted List in Word" or "adding a Formula to Compute Averages in Excel" are examples of good subject lines. 4. In your message it is very important that you specify the version of the software that you're asking about. Asking about how to perform a task in Outlook without specifying which version of Outlook you are using can be a problem because Outlook 2019 has a lot of differences compared to Outlook 2007. It isn't necessary to say that you're using Word 16.0.2275 but telling us that you have Word 2016 is sufficient. For 365 subscribers telling us that you're using Outlook 365 is fine. The same is true for screen reader versions. Please specify the version number, such as NVDA 2020.2 or JAWS 2019. 5. Finally, just enjoy the list and use it as the resource it is intended to be. No question is too basic or too complex. Of course, I can't guarantee that I'll be able to personally answer all questions coming to the list but it is my hope that the list will attract many expert users who will be able to assist. New Word and Excel Course Available
Hello, I have created a course for sale through Commtech USA, an accessible technology company, which presents basic and advanced features of Microsoft Word and the basics of Excel for screen reader users, with an emphasis on JAWS though I also worked to make it useful for NVDA users. It includes about an hour of audio content, and some written material including quizzes so you can see your progress in understanding the audio content. I also provide support sessions for the course for interested customers, including answering questions about features which I may not have gotten to in the course. The link to find the course is here http://www.commtechusa.net/courses I know there are other resources for Word and Excel; this one should work for people who want audio content but cannot commit to weekly sessions. Annoying excel issue - reading cells 4
Good morning all, I¡¯m using Jaws 2020 and Excel 2016 and am of late having a major issue. I cannot read cells, my arrow keys move the window up and down or left and right. In order to read the cells I have to shift f10, escape and then read. The process is most annoying and prevents quick and easy data access. I use Excel for quite a few things throughout the day and really need a fix for this rather urgently. Thank you, Sarah Hale Work: 714.852.3238 Email: sarah.hale@...
