At this point in time, if M365 is on a system the user can choose to use either Outlook (classic) or Outlook [which on some systems will have "(new)" and on others just read "Outlook."

?

If one hits the Windows key and enters "outlook" in the search, you should have two different options, one of which should be Outlook (classic).

?

Both Outlook (classic) and Outlook (new) [whether or not (new) is specified] should exist side-by-side, and be able to be used as desired, through 2029.

Hi all,

My dad bought my sister's old laptop off of her and since he doesn't use it at all it has now become my backup. Anyway my parents got a new Windows 11 desktop and while the tech was here setting it up I asked him to remove my sister's accounts and add mine as I couldn't figure out how to do either. He did both and activated M365 but when I did a search for outlook the only one that came up was outlook (new). How do I install outlook (classic)? I can live with outlook (new) for the most part but there are still features that I use in classic outlook and I'd really like to have this laptop as similar as possible to my current one in terms of programs in case I do ever have to actually use it. This laptop is running the latest version of Windows 11 and I installed NVDA on it. Thanks for any instructions that anyone can provide me.

Using JAWS 2025 and Edge, I noticed that I skipped over the country combo box if I pressed tab, but it was just past the Last Name edit field if I used down arrow. So, type your first name and last name in the boxes, then arrow down to the combo box to change the country. Then you can tab to the address line.

I’m in Canada and just registered with no problem.

Change the country to Canada by manually deleting “United States” and typing Canada in the field, and you can then pick a province and enter your postal code.

There are two unlabelled radio buttons on the next screen though so this form does have a couple of quirks.

Hi Robin,

?

You’re a genius! I just opened a Word .doc where I had the issue not being able to pull up the menus with alt-F. I did a Windows Key+up-arrow and whalah! Problem resolved. I was also having an issue with navigating with the up-arrow key; at a page break it was not allowing me to continue moving back up. Doing windows-key+up-arrow also corrected this issue. I’m not sure how or when I might have issued a key stroke that altered the saving menu and navigation, but thank you for giving me the fix.

Brian,

?

When I just press the alt key alone, Jaws states “menu Bar”, but then I cannot arrow or tab either left or right. I can only down-arrow through system settings. This behavior is very strange and only started about a week or two back when I first noticed it. As I work on this email in outlook, when I press alt here Jaws says, “virtual ribbons, message tab” which if I recall correctly, Jaws would state “virtual ribbon” in Word before things changed.

The first question is what happens when you hit Alt, just Alt, as far as the next keystroke options that are presented.

?

I'm curious as to whether F occurs at all.? ?Here's a speech log from NVDA of what I hear when I hit Alt (focus is on the Home ribbon first) and then left arrow once, then right arrow a few times until I've hit the Draw tab for that ribbon.

?

Ribbon Tabs ?tab control ?expanded
Home ?tab ?selected ?Alt, ? H ?2 of 13
File Tab ?button ?Alt, ? F ?1 of 13
Ribbon Tabs ?tab control ?expanded
Home ?tab ?selected ?Alt, ? H ?2 of 13
Insert ?tab ?selected ?Alt, ? N ?3 of 13
Draw ?tab ?selected ?Alt, ? J ? ? I ?4 of 13

It is much easier to be critical than to be correct.

Issue opening File Backstage View using Alt + F in Word 365.

Hi All,

?

I’m using MS Word that is a part of my Microsoft 365 package on a Win 11 computer using most recent version of JAWS.

?

I’ve been having an issue when in a document in Word. I make changes/edits then when I attempt to get to the Save options under the file menu, I can’t pull up the File menu any longer with keystroke Alt + F.? I? can only save by doing a Control+S.? Anyone have thoughts on what has happened that I can no longer pull up the menu with Alt+F anymore?

?

Thanks for any pointers.

?

Eileen
