Re: Why do I Want Copilot with my M365?
开云体育Based on my experience with using Office with Copilot, I’ve never encountered a situation where Copilot appeared unexpectedly making suggestions. Re: Cleaning Up Contacts
NCBootman,
?
There is also the question of whether you have a collection of contacts or not, as Outlook Classic does not automatically sync contacts from third party email providers such as Google.? It only automatically does so for Exchange-based accounts, which means Microsoft email services like outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com, and possibly a couple more (I can never keep track of any other than those three that Microsoft owns and runs).
?
In Outlook Classic, Ctrl + ? throws focus based upon the digit for ?:
1. Email
2. Calendar
3. Contacts
4. "Modern" Tasks/To Do
5. Causes MS-Word to open
6. Causes MS-Excel to open
7. Causes MS-Powerpoint to open
8. Classic Tasks
9. Add Apps/Shortcuts/Etc. Control
?
In your case, you'd just hit Ctrl + 3 to throw focus to Contacts manager.? If you've got any contacts, the list should appear there and as you move through the list the one that has focus is shown in a preview pane to its right.

Re: Using Copilot with MS-Word - It's keeping the original beneath the new draft text, how can I keep only the revised draft?
Joe,
?
The strict answer to your query is, "no," but in practice it's a Yes and No sort of thing.? I have a document I was using for this example that has one line at the top in very small Arial while the rest is in Liberation Serif, 12 pt.
?
If I give Copilot this prompt: If this document contains mixed fonts, change them all to Constantia 10 point.
?
I get this response:?
It looks like you're asking to change the fonts in your document to Constantia 10 point. Unfortunately, I can't make changes to your document directly. However, I can guide you on how to do it. To change the fonts in your document to Constantia 10 point, follow these steps:
This should change all the fonts in your document to Constantia 10 point. If you need any further assistance, feel free to ask!? ?
However, if I give Copilot this prompt: What fonts are in use in this document?
?
I get this response:
I checked the document, and it appears to contain mixed fonts. Here are the fonts in use:
?
The above answer is not strictly accurate (unless there's a stray space somewhere) but it is accurate in that there is more than one font in use.? So I could follow the instructions it gave in the initial response for setting all text in a document to one font face (and, if desired, the same point size).
?
I am not impressed, though, with Copilot's ability to detect fonts in use, regardless of whether all text in a document is selected or not.? Even after I do a select all, change the font face to a single one, Liberation Serif, and then ask the question again it is still giving me the same not entirely accurate response noted above.? The only font in that original response that was accurate at the time of the initial check was Arial.? The rest of the document was already in Liberation Serif, and had been so when it was last saved, so no changes occurred from the moment it was opened until I supplied the noted prompt.

开云体育Is Copilot able to engage with formatting at all? For example, can you have it look at a document and have it fix inconsistent fonts? Sorry, I know the recommendation has been to just download it and try it, but I’m currently using a business license that would set me back $30 a month for the Copilot features. Re: Using Copilot with MS-Word - It's keeping the original beneath the new draft text, how can I keep only the revised draft?
Leo Bado
开云体育I believe that’s the secret, drafting is different from rewriting. This is a highly important distinction drawing on my own experience, and we should get acquainted with the best way to approach to what we want and what Copilot can do. A very good example of drafting is instructing Copilot with several concepts and how they may relate to one another in a specific context, e.g., “Drawing on concepts such as interactional learning, situational learning, authentic learning, and information theory, draft a few paragraphs detailing what these concepts mean, how they relate to one another, and what could be efficient applicable real life scenarios to unleash their potential all in the context of developing technological competence for screen reader users.” ? On the other hand, rewriting would be just rephrasing or rewording a paragraph or any other portion of text while keeping the same ideas. So, let’s say that drafting is building semantic relationships while rewriting is just rearranging syntactically the code, but keeping the main ideas. ? Cheers, Leo Bado. ? On Behalf Of David Goldfield via groups.io ? Hi, Konnie. After I select the text and tell Copilot to rewrite it via the alt+I menu, press tab and you’ll find a “Replace” button. If you’re interacting with Copilot using another method, please share the steps you’re taking? ? David Goldfield, Blindness Assistive Technology Specialist ? ? On Behalf Of Konnie Ellis via groups.io ? When I type my prompt into copilot and generate a draft with my changes, it asks if I would like to keep it or not. When I tell it to keep the draft, the original document is written underneath the generated draft. Obviously, I only want the new draft. I called Microsoft through Be My Eyes, and the person helping me was unable to resolve the issue. Any tips appreciated. ? Word 365, Windows 11, NVDA Screen Reader ? Konnie |
