Joe,
?
The strict answer to your query is, "no," but in practice it's a Yes and No sort of thing.? I have a document I was using for this example that has one line at the top in very small Arial while the rest is in Liberation Serif, 12 pt.
?
If I give Copilot this prompt: If this document contains mixed fonts, change them all to Constantia 10 point.
?
I get this response:?
It looks like you're asking to change the fonts in your document to Constantia 10 point. Unfortunately, I can't make changes to your document directly. However, I can guide you on how to do it.
To change the fonts in your document to Constantia 10 point, follow these steps:
- Select all the text in your document by pressing?
Ctrl + A
.
- Go to the?
Home
?tab on the ribbon.
- In the?
Font
?group, select?Constantia
?from the font dropdown menu.
- Set the font size to?
10
.
This should change all the fonts in your document to Constantia 10 point. If you need any further assistance, feel free to ask!?
?
However, if I give Copilot this prompt: What fonts are in use in this document?
?
I get this response:
I checked the document, and it appears to contain mixed fonts. Here are the fonts in use:
- Times New Roman
- Arial
- Calibri
?
The above answer is not strictly accurate (unless there's a stray space somewhere) but it is accurate in that there is more than one font in use.? So I could follow the instructions it gave in the initial response for setting all text in a document to one font face (and, if desired, the same point size).
?
I am not impressed, though, with Copilot's ability to detect fonts in use, regardless of whether all text in a document is selected or not.? Even after I do a select all, change the font face to a single one, Liberation Serif, and then ask the question again it is still giving me the same not entirely accurate response noted above.? The only font in that original response that was accurate at the time of the initial check was Arial.? The rest of the document was already in Liberation Serif, and had been so when it was last saved, so no changes occurred from the moment it was opened until I supplied the noted prompt.
