Re: LTspiceXVII released
...umm, Helmut...are they gonna call this LTSPICE 17? or LTSPICE 5?
Or Mike E.'s? strawberry wonder pudding? <---is bad at attempts at Brit* humour. Oh and by the way Helmut, tell mr Mike...I noticed something weird (workable perhaps)..but still ""unusual"". When activating the 64-bit version of LTSPICEXVIII...using WINE loader (not Qt WINE) 1.7 in Fedora 21 FEL (Fedora Electronics Lab)...I briefly get a "black box window" (instead of the usual WINE box). Might be a graphics memory management issue....the program still ran properly (I have not tested the 32-bit version of LTSPICEXVIII)...hmmm. Could indicate "issues down the road" mr. Mike (all the related graphics worked as well including FFT transforms and inverse-transforms(. W. Warren *(hopes John can think of something better...just a homeboy here in Fort Worth Texas) |

Yahoo!Group delays
Yahoo seems to have significant delays today, processing some of the messages here in this group.? They seem to be random -- some get through quickly, others are taking many many hours.? We just have to be patient. If you posted a message and have not seen it yet, that is probably why.???Log-jams happen sometimes. I didn't read about this on a blog or status board.? Re: Schottky Diode Models
Thanks, I will try that out on Friday or Monday. out of interest how did you determine the various values to use from the Datasheet, etc.? Meanwhile, I have actually managed to get a corrected version of the BAR43SFILM model from ST Microelectronics via a Distributor that provides local support. I have been told the model library on the web site will be updated in due course (I don't know if just for this particular diode or the family, etc.). For reference the current library is version 3 and the .lib file in the .zip file is dated 19th April 2016 (although inside the file it says February 2016). FYI - Pretty much every value in the new model is very different to the original model! Thank you for your help. It will be interesting to compare your version with theirs as they are completely different (for instance their IBV is a fixed value (not an expression based on temp!)! Thanks Henry Kafeman |

Re: Analog Devices to buy LT!
Andy has nailed it. ?Anything can happen and outside speculation ¨C or even internal speculation ¨C is pretty much a waste of time. ?The final decision may not even have any logic to it.
The question of the fate of LTspice is a good one, but only time will tell the answer. ?Mike may have more concern for his job (and the fate of LTspice) post-announcement than he did pre-announcement, but it's quite likely that his fate, and the fate of the software, have not yet been decided. ?And they might become unlinked altogether. ?No offense to anyone, but it's not going to be up to Mike. ?The elephants dance and the mice stay out of the way. |

Sub circuit heat dissipation not showing
Hello, I am relatively new at LTspice. I was wondering why a sub circuit for TIP142 and TIP147 doesn¡¯t calculate the heat dissipation when I run my circuit and hover over the symbol with the ALT key held down. All I see is the apparent formula. This feature works in non-darlingtons.? ?
Thanks, Brad |

Ownership is not clear from the outside. I would expect it to be the company, but in the murky world of Silicon Valley, it could be anything. What might happen if Mike leaves the company? That is even less clear. He is so crucial to the development of LTspice that it could not but have a negative impact. For those of us "outside", we can only wait and see how the dust settles. I'm guessing the waveforms in that plot on page 15 are idealistic, not realistic. It is an internal voltage inside the IC, right?? Chances are it won't be steady, not a straight flat line.? I don't know what drives it, because the figure in the datasheet shows an empty box going to that node.? Is the voltage on the FB/OLP pin steady?? I guess it must be rippled too. Is direct contact okay?
analogspiceman Are you okay to help me out directly based on the simulations you have posted in the LTSpice Group? I would appreciate some help (for now at least) with simulating an actual Current Transformer (CT), starting from e.g. your "CurrentSense.asc" simulation. I do not really want to ask detailed questions relating to our R&D Application in a Public Forum. Thanks and Regards Henry Kafeman Sent from Yahoo Mail. |
