Missing footers
I have a member who went through the automatic unsub process and clicked the link to get back into the group.? Since then, though, she's not getting many messages and those that she is getting have no footer.? We have some not very computer savvy members, so I've added links to the photos and files in the footer since they often can't find them.?? Any thoughts on what might be happening here?? Janet

she's not getting many messages Does this mean she is getting some emailed messages from your group? Are they "group" messages or private messages? i.e., do the ones that turn up in her email also show in the group's messages on the group's homepage? Is your group private? Is it moderated? 开云体育Yes, she's getting occasional messages, but not getting all (she's been having to go to the groups.io group to read posts rather than receiving them through email).? She is set up to receive individual messages, not digests.? Our group is private, but messages aren't moderated.? Janet ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Frances

Any thoughts on what might be happening here?My guess is that the subscriber didn't receive an "unsub for spam" email at all, but a bounce probe. Open the subscriber's member record and click on the "Email Delivery History" button at the top. Have there been any recent hard bounces? Does the Activity log show the account as having recently encountered bouncing activity? If a subscriber has a full inbox, (s)he will encounter a "hard bounce." At that point groups.io will quit sending group emails and will instead send periodic "bounce probes." Clicking the link in that probe will temporarily fix the bouncing situation with groups.io but the subscriber can expect continued message delivery issues until such time that they fix the underlying problem. ? This is all a guess, of course. As to the footer problem, an example would be handy. Be advised that plain-text messages sent to the group will be forwarded without active hyperlinks unless you force html in your group settings (see Message Formatting).? 开云体育Is it possible that she is subscribed as first message only? ?That doesn’t explain no footers though.? Frances On Nov 6, 2018, at 4:00 PM, Janet Smith <desertminis@...> wrote:

Janet, I have a member who went through the automatic unsub process and clicked the link to get back into the group.? Since then, though, she's not getting many messages ... Sounds like the behavior of a spam filter. She should check the webmail interface of her email service provider to see if more messages have been diverted to her Spam folder. If any are found there mark them as "Not Spam". ... and those that she is getting have no footer.? Except that bit. Even if someone in the group is sending direct messages to her (via the site) I think there is still a minimal footer. Are these footer-less messages replies to something she posted? It is possible that your group is set to reply to? Group and Sender or that some members are using Reply All in their email interface. In either of those cases the reply direct to her would be without footers. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |
开云体育Thanks everyone for your advice.? I've got sample emails, but am not sure how they would help...they really don't have a footer... ? I suspect it's as you suspect...that's she's got a space problem (she just told me this morning that she was bouncing) or a spam problem (and, unfortunately, she doesn't really understand what her options are here.)??? ?
