Bizarre! has to approve my own posts ??

Lately I had to approve my own posts to my own groups.

Bizarre repeating doing it yesterday and today.

What is going on?

Check your moderation status.

As I mentioned the other day, on some groups, including GMF, everyone is moderated. Even moderators and owners. As an owner, you can choose your own moderation status.

David -- If your group is moderated but you feel you should be exempt, open your own member record and change your Posting Privilege from "Use Group Moderation Setting" to "Override: Not Moderated."

Your member record will subsequently display a "P" status badge.

How do you mean, "bizarre"?
It's *EXACTLY* the same way how it works
at Yahoogroups, no difference at all.

If a group has "Moderated" status, then
everyone is moderated. But you can
change individual posting privileges
for each user, including you.

But, I repeat, it's exactly the same at
Yahoogroups.

My groups is set to first post moderation and thereafter no need for that, but I am the owner of those groups. I am one who have to have my own posts approved repeatedly by me.

Have you actually checked your Posting Privileges to see what they are set to, as per Bruce's suggestion?

Another thought springs to mind... do you allow non - members to post? If you do then those messages are always submitted for moderation. If the answer to that question is yes then I suggest you check the email address from which you are sending just in case it is not the one you have registered as your account.

Just restating the problem without providing feedback on the suggestions provided by others is unlikely to find a solution.

OK, now I understand your problem...

Well, in my recent experience, in my
groups also the setting to "moderate
the first 'N' messages of new users"
has not been working properly, and
apparently these new users' messages
continue to be moderated "ad infinitum",
like in "forever".

FYI, if you don't approve a message, the counter doesn't change.? It's based on Approved messages.

My groups are set to have messages with attachments moderated .. as a result of that, I have had to approve posts of my own occasionally, even when I had only replied to a thread with an attachment somewhere..

Sounds like a good procedure to me.

Lets say your address (or anyone's) gets spoofed and someone sends an attachment that is up to no good. (Might work best from a third party WEBmail.)
You can intercept it and delete the whole thing AND instantly know something nefarious is going on...

Side note:
I set attachments, on receive *as a subscriber* in my personal profile/advanced to "zero", BUT/(so)
I'm sent a link instead.
I just noticed the/(a) link I got this very morning did NOT include
the filename or extension. That brings up other questions about
"if" to click on it on not...
