Re: Lock topic
p.s. the same loopholes are in effect if you delete a message after locking, or rename after locking. The same loopholes also apply to "moderate topic." J

Re: Lock topic
There are a couple of known loopholes to be aware of. 1. If you've deleted any message in the topic, people can bypass locking by answering that message in their email and 2. If you've renamed or

Re: Lock topic
It should lock that Topic so the Reply function no longer works on site. Any email replies should bounce with an explanatory note. It won't keep someone from starting a new topic with the same basis

Re: AOL members bouncing
Duane, Thanks for the advice. I've been doing that, but there are a many members, for example, whose cats are not in dire straits and would not really notice whether they're getting the emails or not.

Re: AOL members bouncing
What I've done in a case like this is send a Bounce Probe to the red ones (doesn't hurt to send them to the blue ones, but shouldn't be needed.) If they're still bouncing in a few days to a week, I

Huh? Who here said an error message "said something about" anything? Who's in big trouble with you this time? LOL. I don't recall exactly what Duane said, but I personally said that I don't understand

Re: Ability to Moderate Photos
Thanks Shal, I'm glad to know that I'm not alone on this. It can be downright scary to not have them. I've had group members' info and work disappear due other members twiddling with things and I

Re: AOL members bouncing
This is a conversation that I often have with people who ask for help with their computers.... There are NO error messages that "say something about" anything -- an error message may or may not

Yes, thanks, I didn't look that far down. I see things about the "aol postmaster" etc. but have no idea what it all means. J

Re: AOL members bouncing
Yes, it would be nice to know when/if an attempt was made, but I've been "assuming" it would update one of those fields when it tries. Just below those two, there should be Recent Bounces. A couple of

Duane, it's not in the delivery history, either. That only shows the 'last successful' and the 'last unsuccsssful' delivery. It doesn't show delivery attempts. J Sent from my iPhone

I currently have 189 bouncing members. Only 5 of those are blue, the rest are red. Many, many are Yahoo.com email addresses. What do you recommend I do about the red bouncers? Janice B AZ

J, The way I understand Mark's explanation is that it will attempt to deliver emails until it gets 4 consecutive bounces, going from blue to red. I'm not sure if it's once per day, new digest, or

Duane, Thanks. "Keep trying" to do what, exactly? Is groups.io sending out bounce probes? I've been in email contact with the blue bouncer, and she hasn't responded to the bounce probe. I suppose that

Re: AOL members bouncing
Blue B means Groups.io will keep trying (4 tries, I think), red B means it's given up. In the first case, shouldn't be any need to send a probe. In the second, that may be the only way they know
