Re: calender

Yes it can be done easily, but it's not really intuitive (until you've used it a few times. ;>)? Set Repeats to Weekly, then set Repeat Every to 2.? You can also specify that it occur on a day of the week.? Once you've made your selections, there will be a Repeat Summary at the bottom of the Repeats box where you can make sure it will do what you want.

Re: Speaking of those group addresses.....

Can someone who is NOT a group member contact the owner/moderator through those home page addresses?? When in YG I tried to contact a few group owners to ask questions about the group before I thought about joining but the messages always came back as undeliverable.? I would like that feature if at all possible.

Loopy

Not sure how to stop that. Thoughts?
This is caused by something in your email client. If you send to "Reply to
all" (Sometimes called "Reply to Group"), your post will go to both the
group and the person who sent the message.

Some clients, for reasons I can't fathom, do this by default; there should
be a setting somewhere.

Are there any invisible symbols so that a file can be put on top of all the others inspite of its alphabetical order?

In Yahoo this was possible by setting empty spaces.

Fair point. It is really addressed to anyone interested in the topic.

Mark investigated everything he possibly could and was unable to
determine the problem. So I¡¯m not sure what you¡¯re trying to say?
I'm saying that if the message appears in the pending member's Email Delivery History one needn't bother Mark - you know what happened to the notice, one way or the other.

The only thing you don't know is why the would-be member can't find it. And that is unknowable, even by Mark, without the ability to inspect the server logs of the would-be member's email service (or his/her mind).

Actually, It just took a while:

I'm not sure how long it took for the Email Delivery History page to be updated to show the message,? but sometime in the last 24-hours.

So in this case I know that the Pending Subscription notification was delivered, and so could confidently tell the would-be member to look in their Spam, Trash, or wherever.

Sarah,

That looks somewhat like your group's Reply To option is set to "Group and Sender". It is in the Message Policies section of your group's Settings page.

The other possibility is that your Gmail account's Default reply behavior is set to "Reply All". That is on the General tab of Gmail settings.

Re: Was my invitation accepted?

Al,

I've completed steps 0-2 of the Yahoo transfer 3 days ago.
Including using the green Start New Transfer button and the filling in the form? That's the backup in case the invitation isn't received.

I haven't seen any new member from groups.io attempt to join my Yahoo
group.
In my recent transfer of some groups the transfer agent joined the groups relatively promptly, within hours or a day. But the procedure has changed (again) since then - when I didn't one didn't send an invite, just filled in the form.

Was my invitation received ...?
Note that GMF is a user-to-user group - none of us have that kind of inside information.

You'll know when the new member appears. If you have your Y!Group set to send you notices of new members that will help.

The good news is that Mark has been working down the backlog, my most recent transfers took between three and five days.

Re: Was my invitation accepted?

When an invitation is accepted they become members, you won't see any "attempt" (pending member request).? ?So... check your member list, it might have already been accepted... and you can proceed with the rest of the transfer steps :)

Re: Was my invitation accepted?

At last report, the waiting list was about a week due to the large number of transfers requested recently.

Have you looked at files in other groups? I can make you a mod or owner at shalstest to see if the files there look different. Maybe we can tease out whether the issue is related to your account versus your group.

Thank you - that would be useful. I really appreciate your help with this problem.

Yesterday I created a test group and uploaded a small file - still only saw the pencil and the scissors and no trash can or flag.
