Yes, and note that you can rename "main@..." to something else if you wish.

A thread can be given priority - by making it a sticky. But it doesn't give priority to reply emails from the owner or moderator over the first post in the thread. The posts are in time order, albeit they are top of the messages list on the group homepage.

There may be some workaround like merging or splitting. The moderator could start a new thread and put a link to the other messages in the post. But is it worthwhile??

If the owner or moderator wishes to have a sticky message, write a new one, make it a sticky (from hamburger menu below the message) or even lock it as well.

If you want to make a message stand out and get people¡¯e attention, add a prefix of [ADMIN] to the message title.

No, the activity log can't be edited.

I am sure you must have a reason but why do you "clean out" any
messages? they don't take up storage room, and clearing messages from a
group does nothing to those subscribers who have received those messages
?
And if you clear out and leave just two pages, what do you mean by "Back
activity"?

Re: Question Please [Cleaning activity]

If you don't want a message archive for your group, you can add time limiters through hashtags.?

You can also merge topics and then assign a hashtag to schedule an automatic removal.
See?/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-hashtags/hashtag-uses

/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-group-topics-and-messages

However, I am with Nivard. I sell Groups.io to my committees by saying that there is an archive of discussions.?
I do delete messages from Groups.io in my own personal email account though.

Spamcop uses spam traps too (see ), so cleaning out non-responding accounts could well help Spamcop issues too.

Changing providers is not a trivial exercise. I switched from TDS to GMail a little over a year ago. Loving it now, but the transition was a major PITA.

Absolutely agree.? My wording was poor when I suggested the original poster might consider changing e-mail providers.? What I should have suggested is that the OP might change to a different e-mail just for Groups.io.? Many folks have more than one e-mail address.? I have four.

Let's face it:? Groups.io sends a LOT of messages. Unfortunately, so do spammers. Many providers don't have the resources to distinguish one from the other. In their zeal to "protect you," they may license Spamhaus or Spamcop or Spamwhoever to do that work for them.

It all comes down to who you've contracted to deliver desired emails. If you're paying someone, and they fail to do so, it's pretty clear whose fault it is. If you're not paying, well, you get what you pay for? It's really not that simple, either. I pay nothing to GMail and they've been delivering my stuff just fine.

Changing providers is not a trivial exercise. I switched from TDS to GMail a little over a year ago. Loving it now, but the transition was a major PITA.

Good luck,
Bruce

Re: Message Priority - so it appears at the beginning of the set of messages

Whatever method you might find to accomplish that priority would work only for those who read messages on the website.? There is nothing you can do to maintain the order of messages in each member's email Inbox.
?

is there a way to give a moderator's message a priority so it appears at the head of the list of messages?

Re: SpamCop flagging messages

The fact that you successfully sent this message today means you have reverified your account.? Perhaps you got onto a Groups.io site.? That's all that would have been needed.

As for the SpamCop stuff, maybe the right answer is to do nothing for a week or two. It's an issue between Groups.io as a whole and the anti-spam services, and this latest reverification -- really an account clean-up -- should improve the situation.? If it doesn't, yes, a different email provider is an option.?

Actually, they do.? Spamcop specifically says on their web site that email services should NOT depend solely on the Spamcop information, but, unfortunately, many services do.

Emails from my smas@...?group gets flagged by my isp SpamCop as spam some times.?

Got an email a few weeks ago about reverification, not sure what to do except change my email address.
My isp says it SpamCop and they have no control over it.

Re: Member in subgroup only??

Sort of, but you need to restructure. I belong to a very large group of teams. Each team has its own subgroup, plus a few subgroups for specialties. Something like this:

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

Everybody belongs to the Main group. Only Moderators may post there for special announcements, which are rare (Three posts in the last five years.).
Team members are assigned to their respective team. Only Team Members may post or see the messages for their respective Team.
Everybody is assigned the to the Schedules group to see what everyone is doing when. Everybody can see those messages. Post require Moderator approval.
New folks or those involved with training are assigned to the Training group. Everybody can see the posts, only group members may post.
All join requests require Moderator approval.

This format should be scalable and adaptable for a variety of situations, including those like yours.

HTH,
Michael
