A couple of years ago, Mark said, "We bounce back messages greater than ~94MB. Because of the way that attachments are encoded, max attachment size will be somewhat lower than that."

Re: owner getting every message posted
That's helpful, Shal. I see that messages intended for the owner or moderator come to?[email protected]?and regular group messages come to [email protected]. So I assume that when my account is set to digest I should still receive the former as individual messages, but not the latter. Yet the latter is still happening. I've changed my subscription to individual and back to digest, so let's see if that fixes it.

There's not an easy way to do what you've asked, but there is a way.? You could go to the Member Activity log and select Left from the Actions drop down, then click the Search button (leave Date set to Any).? This would give a list of anyone that's left the group.? Now you can copy that person's email address (or name, but email address is better) into the Search box, select All Actions from the Actions drop down menu, click the Search button (again leaving Date set to Any), and you'll have a list of all actions by that member. For other actions, you could use similar logic.? One thing that has thrown me off a few times is forgetting to click the Search button after selecting an Action. question about the feature "activity"
Hi,
I cannot find a distinction between "Member Activity" and "Moderator Activity". When I choose "Member Activity", I get activities both of "normal" members but also the ones of moderators, although there is an extra feature for "Moderator Activity". So I do not understand why both activities are mixed together in "Member Activity". I know I can check one person?s history under his subscription, but that?s not what I want. I?d like to have a clear distiction between "Member Activity" and "Moderator Activity". "Member Activity" should show activities of all members during the complete time of the group?s existence. This was an extremely practical feature in yg, for you could find at one glance who applied, joined and unsubscribed within the last few months. In groups.io I cannot find this feature, but I might have overseen it. So far I see all activites (of members and moderators) mingled together, and this makes this kind of search quite difficult. Example: If I choose "Member Activity", I get hundreds of activities of moderators (file updating and changing, message sending, photo editing, etc.) and the ones of members somewhere in between. In the pulldown menue under "Actions", I can only select one action at a time, such as "applied for membership" but not the complete history of all members applications, unsubscriptions, mail address changes of the past months or years on one page (unless I am missing s. th..). I hope I could make clear what I mean. Thanks Victoria |

1. Much of the 'impatience' would have been avoided had a simpleRegarding the Transfer instructions page you might wish to post that suggestion in beta. Mark's notice in beta mentioned a delay in transfers, but it wasn't clear that "delay" would mean "until his return". 2. Similarly, I responded today to the Invitation Accepted message bySounds like something to report to [email protected] - hopefully others who've experienced that oddity will do so also. Pam,
As well, when I look at the pending transfers, the other four sayGmail's spam filter is pretty good, but you might want to check your Spam folder anyway just to make sure any messages from the Transfer agent didn't land there. Too, if you've got a tabbed Inbox, I suppose you might check Social and Promotions just in case. Re: owner getting every message posted
Alex,
Does that (have to manually set posting rights to all new members) ...No, that was a misunderstanding. The New Users Moderated mechanism automatically changes the member's Posting Privilege to "Default group policy" as soon as the required number of approvals has been made. even apply to members migrated over from yahoogroups? I thought theirTheirs do, but Y!Groups similar feature works differently. Those members copy over with their Posting Privilege set to "Override: moderated" (not new user moderated). Their privilege will not change automatically, if you want to take one of them off moderation you'll have to do that manually. My recommendation is to change him/her to "Default group policy" so that you retain the ability to moderate the group as a whole in the event of a flame war or other disturbance. I suggest that "Override: not moderated" never be used, or used for only the most trusted of members/moderators. Re: How does one *split* a topic?
Brian,
I have my display order to show newest messages first, so inThen you've stepped square on the bug Duane warned of (his item 2). The most recent message cannot be split from the rest with the sort order flipped that way. It's a stupid bug, but it is still there. What I want is that first message to be split off as a topicYou'll need to flip your view order before you can split it from the earlier messages. Re: SOME HELP FOR THOSE UNDERGOING A TRANSFER
Dan,
In Yahoo, my files = 0, Photo Albums = 106mgb, ...Be aware that the size reported for Photo Albums in Y!Groups includes attachments. But attachments aren't copied by the transfer agent. I've also have a Y!group where the usage reported for photos is grossly in error (1.7 GB actual, but 235 MB reported). So take the numbers with a grain of salt. and there is only 1 photo in that Photomatic¡± thing ...That's a collection of albums formed from photos attached to messages (rather than uploaded). Each message with attached photos creates a new photomatic album that contains the images from that message.
