1. Much of the 'impatience' would have been avoided had a simple
notice that "Pending transfer requests will be on hold until
approximately May 4th due to staff vacation" been posted as a sticky
on the GroupManagersForum and on the Transfer Request page. Properly
setting expectations up front avoids many upsets.

Regarding the Transfer instructions page you might wish to post that suggestion in beta. Mark's notice in beta mentioned a delay in transfers, but it wasn't clear that "delay" would mean "until his return".

2. Similarly, I responded today to the Invitation Accepted message by
setting the groupsio ID to Moderator and then clicking the Go Ahead
button on the transfer page; However, the transfer web page gave no
response to the click of the button, and the "action required"
message still shows in the drop-down box for the pending transfer.
So I'm not sure that clicking the "Go Ahead" button actually
notified anyone.

Sounds like something to report to [email protected] - hopefully others who've experienced that oddity will do so also.
