I think I am done with it now, those unverified after all this time are surely not receiving or reading messages I received an autoreply from one RI member. I sent them a message through Admin, Members, Send Message (bottom of the record). The member was bouncing and RI. The message was about a change of email address. So messages are getting through from group owners to RI members. I also see them in Email Delivery History. ? |

Group Forum owner is deceased. Reset?
Hello,
I hope this is the right place to post this question. There is a problem with the TenTecEagle group and I'm hoping for suggestions. ?
The owner of the group, Gary K0DVN, is unfortunately deceased. So no new member applications to join this group are being approved.
?
Is there someway to reset the group ownership and assign a new owner? I am currently not a member since I can't get approved.
?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Dennis Doran |

Re: Members who have not reverified (still RI status) removal update
In a group I own, I have 6 (of 700+) who are RI.
?
Yet, I have many more who are Bounced or Not confirmed who have been in that state for a long time in spite of my attempts.
?
I do find some value in being able to see all of these people as "members", yet it does seem like all of these status' should be treated in a similar manner (and give moderators the knowledge and history they need).

There are obviously a lot of members here concerned with this: group members who have still not reverified. When will they be removed? There seemed to be a deadline of February 11tth, The original message from Groups.io stated that "After that, members still in the RI state will be removed from groups." Some group owners -- like me! -- took that to mean the RI members would be removed beginning Feb. 1th.
Yesterday on the Beta Group Mark clarified that. Mark wrote that there are still some RI members reverifying, even at this late date, and due to that he has decided to give them an additional two weeks before final removal begins. I don't have any real problem with that. tommy meehan |

Direct Add member notice
Hi, I'm finishing up a direct add flow from my website using the APIs. I turned on the Direct Add notice and put in the needed fields. However, I'm not getting the notice when I do the Direct Add on my test email account. Anyone have any experience with this? Anyone else using the Direct Add notice under Admin -> Settings -> Member Notices? I see under Admin -> Settings -> Direct Add that you can turn off or on the sending of this notice. Ours is turned on. Finally, I did a Direct Add interactively on the Groups admin web site and I got the Welcome, Direct Add, and Group Guidelines emails. When I do this with the API I get none of them. Anyone else using the API for this? Shouldn't these scenarios work the same? TIA for any help. JewishGen? |

Re: Reply question
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI use Yahoo mail as well. The ¡°Reply¡± and ¡°Reply All¡± buttons at the top of the screen will follow the settings for the group. ¡°Reply All¡± will usually do the same as ¡°Reply¡±. ? The links in the footer of the message are different. ¡°Reply To Group¡± will do just as it says, send a reply to the Group. Same with ¡°Reply To Sender¡± which will reply only to the sender of the email, not the group. ? Scott ? ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Margot via groups.io

Yes, and note that you can rename "main@..." to something else if you wish.

Re: Question Please [Cleaning activity]
If you don't want a message archive for your group, you can add time limiters through hashtags.?
You can also merge topics and then assign a hashtag to schedule an automatic removal. See?/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-hashtags/hashtag-uses /helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-group-topics-and-messages However, I am with Nivard. I sell Groups.io to my committees by saying that there is an archive of discussions.? I do delete messages from Groups.io in my own personal email account though.
