Re: Calender Sync with Google
#bug
Thanks Andy, we had a bit of a weird one.
A deleted event was still showing several days afterwards. I could see it had been deleted and the groups.io calendar had no trace of the original event. One of our admins deleted a recurring event and replaced it with a one off event, it didn't disappear from Google synced calendars which showed two events at the same time. I've deleted all the future repeating events and one off event, just over 12 hours later it's caught up. The original event was deleted about a week ago. Yes I'm aware it automatically updates a couple of times a day but you never know if there's a trick. Just my impatience wishing I could speed things up rather than wait - lol. All seems ok now Martyn. |

Re: Problem receiving io group mail
Alyssia, I'd start by looking her up in the members list (Admin > Members), and checking her email delivery history for successful and unsuccessful deliveries, as well as her activity history to see if she's made any recent changes to her settings, email address, etc.

Formatting toolbar not showing in some member notices
#membernotices
When writing a post, I have access to a formatting toolbar which allows me to change the text in bold, italics or change the message style in various ways.
The same happens when I write a new member notice. However, today, when I was about to change the text of some existing member notices, I found out that the toolbar was not always displayed. Two notices (Group Guidelines and Pending subscription, both active), once opened, do not show the toolbar. The other member notices (active and not) are OK, I can change their text format without any problem. Could it be a bug? Thank you for your help. Marina |

We seem to be having issues with Google calendar syncing,A quick search using your favourite search engine show plenty of questions about how often Google calendar syncs with external feeds (in the case the ICS feed from Groups.io). A common answer is? 'every few hours' but that seems to mean anywhere between 4 and 24 hours. Deleting and re adding the account doesn't remove the out of sync changes I'm not sure what account you are referring to. I don't see how deleting and re-adding a Groups.io account would help.? The issue is Google picking up updates from a Groups.io calendar feed and that is based upon the group name which would stay the same regardless of deleting and re-adding a Groups.io account. Calender Sync with Google
#bug
We seem to be having issues with Google calendar syncing,
It only syncs overnight which is a pain but sometimes it misses an event or retains a deleted event. All was working reasonably well until someone else took over organising the events and I cannot figure out what they have done. the activity log doesn't show all the updates. Does anyone know if there is a way to make google calendar refresh manually, nothing I have tried works. Deleting and re adding the account doesn't remove the out of sync changes Martyn. |

See?/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/customizing-settings-for-premium-and-enterprise-features/message-reposting?? As for why yours aren't being allowed to repost while others are, we can't help you with that. You will have to take that up with the Moderators of the actual group (send your inquiry to [email protected], where "groupname" is the actual name of your Classifieds group).? It could be that these other people are repeatedly sending the same ad to the group in a new email. As far as groups.io is concerned, that's not a repost...they are simply two different messages. So if all else fails, you could try that. Hope this helps, Bruce? Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |

Hi Group Managers, I re-posted a short term rental in the Classifieds and my post was rejected because it doesn't meet the time to wait before re-posting (one month), but a quick search shows that members are posting their short term rentals every couple of weeks. So I'm unclear why mine was not approved when others are re-posting their posts on a shorter time frame than one month?

Well, maybe. There are account profiles and group profiles. If he hasn't created a group profile, the account profile will be used. But if he has, he can make changes in his account profile until the cows come home...the profile he previously customized for your group will continue to used. Have him go to?/account?page=profile? At the top, there's a pull-down menu that says "Overall Profile." If he clicks that button and selects your group name instead, subsequent changes should appear in his profile for your group. He can also edit his group profile by finding his own entry in the Directory and clicking the "Edit Group Profile" button. Folks have reported problems updating their profile photo. In particular, deleting your profile photo is problematic, and he may have more luck uploading a blank image of some kind. To the extent that he can be more specific about exactly what he is doing and the problem he's encountered in doing so we will in turn be able to fine-tune our guidance. This field is actually not used on Groups.io so there's no need to set one anyway. Second, do you have subgroups?? If he has already set a value for a subgroup profile then changing the same field at a higher level profile (ie. his account or main group) may not appear to save his changes (depending upon where he is looking to determine the changes are not saved).? He would need to go to the lower level profile and use the reset option to allow values from the higher level to propagate. Regards Andy |
