?That doesn't ever happen with an Invite; an invite constitutes acceptance. ?All than needs to happen is for the recipient to accept the invitation.
?The only place it would appear in the Yahoo Group is in the Activity log. ?
?It differs primarily in that there is an automation receiving the invitations and making note of that fact on the In Process page for that transfer.? But the automation does not attempt to accept the invitation. ?
?Once the transfer agent accepts the invitation you'll get the standard new member has joined notification, if you've enabled that as one of your moderator notices. ?

Jim, I hear you, but lacking a link to what you believe you read elsewhere, I can only go on what the notice from Groups.io said and it said... ?That's interesting. It is contrary to my understanding of the bounce processing, and is not mentioned in the Help for Bounce Handling. Also, I have members in some of my groups listed as bouncing since the transfer date of the group, last September.? So I wonder if that's one of those "we reserve the right to" things, where it is seldom if ever done. Some in the beta group have asked that Bounced
members? be eventually removed from their groups. I think a better way
to solve the clutter problem would be to display and make sortable a
"bouncing since" date. Right now you have to open each individual member
to determine how long they've been Bounced.
I'll contact Mark via the support address and ask him to change the wording of the bouncing notice to reflect that Group OWNERS are exempt from unsubscription... if that's indeed the case. ?Thanks! That message has not appeared at the Yahoo Group.? Now that I read the process again, I think I understand that it¡¯s a bit different from inviting an individual to join a Yahoo Group. I need to wait for ?to ask to join the Yahoo Group.? I¡¯ll wait, but I¡¯m going to be away the first two weeks of August. Will I need to start over mid-August? Or will ?wait days to be accepted at Yahoo? Ross

In the past, the transfer queue has been as deep as three weeks; by the time Mark returns from his current vacation, it may be even longer than that. No invitation has been received to approve at the Yahoo Group. ?You mean that the invitation hasn't been accepted. That's normal - acceptance is a manual process and could take hours to days. Or longer at the moment since the person who normally does that is on vacation through the end of the month. To see if the invitation was received by the transfer agent, look at the In Process page for this transfer. ? Is Yahoo screwing with invitations to?[email protected]?? ?I don't think there's anyone at Yahoo / Oath / Verizon paying enough attention to Y!Groups to notice Groups.io, much less take some action about it. In a database column (cello) I can't figure out what data type to select such that when someone enters text and uses the "enter" key to insert? Line Feed (for example making a vertical list of items for sale) how to have those linefeed (CR) show up to viewers of the database rather than the entire cell being one long line? Thanks -- Dan |

I've set up a new Groups.io group and sent an invitation to [email protected] from the Yahoo Group I want to move. That was over 2 hours ago. No invitation has been received to approve at the Yahoo Group.
I sent a new invitation to a non groups.io address and it went through immediately. Is Yahoo screwing with invitations to?[email protected]?? Ross Hunter |

Besides the "Welcome" notice, Group Guidelines can also be set up to be sent to all new members. Depending on the content of your 3 files, you may be able to use Group Guidelines and Welcome to incorporate all (or most) of that information. I like the Group Guidelines option because it means that basic information remains easily available for someone who deleted or "lost" the first email!

The messages of one of the members of our new group at io fail to deliver. She's using Mozilla Thunderbird and gets delivery failure notices on every attempt. She can login to the group with her email and password though. What can be the cause? How can she solve it?
