Well, looks like my mail is coming back in and today I have received well over 200 mails from today/yesterday depending on their originating countries.- so if you have iiNet as your ISP then I suggest that you do this:

I did speak with my IT Professional and he said that I should and so I pass this on for you to help with your problems:

1) Contact iiNet Support

2) Inform them that you are not receiving any emails from the domain @groups.io

3) Have them to check with their mail server filter to not block the domain @groups.io in your mail account?

4) Get them to add @groups.io as safe sender in your iinet mailbox janetb@...

I had not received any emails from the domain @groups.io since?25 January.? If you are speaking with their support personnel don't take their word for it if they say it's not an iiNet problem but send them an email to support@...?telling them what the problem is and giving them the above information.? I did also tell them that?I had done some digging of my own, reading up on the Group Managers Forum in Groups.io and that it appears that all iiNet customers utilising the domain @groups.io have been locked out and asked them to do the following:

Firstly, check with your mail server filter to not block the domain @groups.io in both my account and all other accounts which use that domain or do I have to get them to write to you (good luck with the thousands of mails you will have to cope with ?).

Once that has been unblocked please add @groups.io as a safe sender in my iiNet mailbox for my email address [insert your email address here].

Hope this helps anyone who is having trouble.

Linda -- First off, make sure you are using the HTML editor. The HTML editor should have an assortment of formatting icons in the taskbar at the top (for bold, italic, bulleted list, etc).

Secondly, is this something you plan to send on a regular basis? If so, you might have more luck by writing it up as a Member Notice of some kind, instead of a Word document (see?/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/managing-member-notices).?

I also strongly support the previous suggestion that you simply save it to a PDF and send it as an attachment.

All that aside, back to your question...

With simpler documents, I frankly haven't had too much difficulty opening the file in Word and doing cut-and-paste from that into the editor. But the MS-Word format is proprietary; there is no such thing as a "Word format for email." If your document contains constructs that can't be easily rendered in HTML, the online editor (and your own email client, for that matter) are both likely to struggle to handle it.

You might have more luck by first saving the document as HTML directly to your desktop (File->Save As->Web page, filtered). Then open that in a second browser tab and cut-and-paste it into the editor from that.

All told, if you expect the document to look exactly the same in email as it does in Word then I have to say that's very unlikely to happen. If you could provide a copy of the file (or a similar one) it might help us to help you further.

Have you checked the activity log to see if someone deleted them?? Also make sure that you haven't changed your display preference to fewer items per page.

This is a user-to-user group, so if it's a site problem (which is unlikely), we can't do anything.

Click on the title of file. What happens next depends on the type of document.
If it is a PDF, in my Mac computer, it will open as a new tab in the browser. I can then select all and paste or save as PDF and attach.
If it is a docx (on my Mac), it goes into downloads. I assume if it is a .pages (a Mac program) on a Windows computer it does the same.
Then open it and copy/paste or save as a PDF and attach.?

Or I can just right-click on the title of the document to get the URL, copy link and paste that into the post.

There are probably other things you can do. You can also click to Update a file. Change the description to see why it is appearing again - at least "please see this file"! Make sure that Notify Members is ticked.?

It occurs to me that perhaps you want to send a file from another group or subgroup to another group. If so, please tell us that.

Perhaps there's something I'm missing here. It would seem that if the file is already in the Files area it would be simpler (and consume less storage space) to simply link to it. If you only want part of the file, one could simply copy that part of the file and paste it as text into your message.

The email address was a @aapt.net.au one which again gave no indication

The [email protected]?address should be used only for those issues that cannot be resolved using existing web functions (difficulty with payments, help transferring a group to a subgroup, etc). Posts that don't comply with this (or from owners of unpaid, Basic groups) are often ignored.

That seems to happen from time to time.? I don't know why an auto-reply isn't sent sometimes unless it ignores email from someone that doesn't have a paid group.? Unless it's a serious problem, support only replies to paid group owners.? You can often get help with problems using this group or the Group_Help group.? I've noticed that support sometimes ignores problems that can be resolved here.

In the past when I was having a particular problem with my group, I would write to support and receive shortly after a reply they received my email. Last week I sent a request about a problem a member was having I could not solve but did not receive a confirmation my email was received, so two days ago I sent another request to this problem with more information but still no confirmation. A long time ago I experienced this situation and Mark was on vacation, so I am wondering if Mark is on vacation again.

You can attach a doc. By email, do it as you usually do. On the group homepage, use the paperclip icon.?

But first you must make sure that your group is set up to allow attachments.

In Admin, Settings, Message Formatting. Use dropdown menu to change.

And how it appears in your email depends on your own subscription. See?

Thank you for trying to help, Peter. Unfortunately the issue is not with an embedded photo. It's the inability to follow a "hot link" directly to a photo in an album. I let my members know they have to actually be looking at the enlarged photo in their album before copying the URL into their message to give a link to their photo for the other members to get to quickly.?
? Frances, I believe if the member was not logged in to their account, they would not be able to see the photos at all since mine is a restricted group. This member is able to see the photos, but she has to go through the succession of "all groups, to specific group, to album, and then the particular photo". That is bizarre as the hot link should have taken her directly to the photo.
? I appreciate your trying to help with this.
