searching for members question
Hello. Today I received a notification that a member left my group. I maintain a separate list of members in a word document and was not able to locate that person in my list. So, I went into the group and looked at activity, and yes, there was a listing for that email address leaving the group. But, when I searched on that email address under activity, nothing shows up, not even the leaving of the group. What I suspect is that the person somewhere along the line changed their email and I was not aware of it, but I am flummoxed that nothing is showing up in a search of activity. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? Thanks! Patti |

Re: member unsubscribed for 'marking a message as spam'?

PC| Here's another possible solution. | Gmail (which generally doesn't have | the problem we're discussing) lets | you define filters that look for | certain characteristics of an email, | such as keywords or the sender's | address, and take various actions. | At times I have had to set up a | filter to NOT send certain emails | to the spam folder. So if a user's | ISP has this capability and the user | is savvy enough to use it, it's an | option. For this solution to work, it would be necessary for the ISP to process the user's filters BEFORE determining what is spam or not. In the case of Outlook.com, for example, unfortunately the ISP first determines what is SPAM, before executing the filters created by the user. That is the reason why nothing works on Outlook.com. I was interested in what you found so I did a test to cpom[pare my last two revisions.? The result (screenshot below) Additions were highlighted in green.? Deletions were highlighted in red (pink?) Actually it's not quite 100% correct -- see the text "Test Image."? I did not remove?or add?that text between the two versions -- I removed and pasted in only images, so I can't explain why Gio highlighted those as changes?? I did mess w/ that text in earlier versions, but not between the two I compared. Also, the comparison does not show images that were deleted/added. It's not easy to follow the history comparison because it appears to me that blank lines are added into the differences.? Still, it would be useful if, say, I unintentionally (or intentionally, I suppose) deleted a chunk of text that I needed to retrieve and copy/clean up, and paste back onto that or another page or into a message. |

Member Notification After Wiki Change
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMy group has a Links page I built using the Wiki, and I have never ticked the box to notified members after making changes. This last time I did tick that box to see what the notification would look like, and I have to say I wasn¡¯t impressed with the email notification. In the notification there is a link called Compare Revisions, and when I click on it I get a list of everything on the Links page minus active links. There is no way to compare the revised page against the previous page, because nothing stands out to show what has been revised. What is the purpose of this Compare Revisions link? ? Don |

One way to unmoderated yourself is to go to Admin, Members, select your name, scroll down to Posting Privileges. Be sure to Save. I have a <btinternet.com> email address subscribed to my group and have not had any problems with losing group access because of having a message marked as spam. It is for my second presence as Group owner, but that shouldn't make any difference. Margaret Leeds, UK -- My ISP (BT) changed its mail interface a few months ago and all Groups.io traffic was shunted into the Spam Box.
