I've had the same experience with Yahoo's offered download "Your download request has been completed, but no data of this type is available in your account."? After 20 years of being active in groups you'd think that there might be something......

I've paid my $25 and used PGOffline to grab stuff from groups that look as though they are going to disappear :(?

I have to admit that I am completely and utterly lost. OK; you envisage a monthly message but of a type not covered by the standard Monthly Message facilty offered by Groups.io, but I cannot tie this in with the original title that you gave to this thread, i.e. What are the email addresses I should use?

Perhaps someone else might be able to work it out.

Re: "Average Pace" of transfers

Hi friends,

I don't expect you to follow my little group's transfer saga avidly...but take a look at the last few days, and keep the faith!? (A minor caveat is that I didn't consistently check at the same time of day; but today was the first time that I saw such dramatic movement.)
?
Sat 10/19/2019 Alerted members of my group about Yahoo¡¯s plans and discussed options (Google groups. Groups.io, Facebook, plain email, dissolution).? People liked my description of Groups.io especially the ability to preserve ten years¡¯ worth of content.
Sun 10/20/2019 Created group at Groups.io.? Signed up for Premium and paid $110 (which doubled two days later).? Sent invitation for [email protected] to join our Yahoo group.? Heard nothing.
Thur 10/24/2019 Sent a second invitation to [email protected].
Fri 10/25/2019 Invitation was finally accepted.? (Whether it was Sunday¡¯s or Thursday¡¯s, I don¡¯t know.)? I swiftly upgraded [email protected] to moderator and gave the go-ahead for transfer.
Sun 10/27/2019 Finally progressed to step 3 of 4.? Place in queue #644.
Mon 10/28/2019 #633.
Tue 10/29/2019 #618.
Wed 10/30/2019 #584.
Thur 10/31/2019 #553. "The pace does seem to be picking up but we¡¯re still looking at 2-4 more weeks if this continues."
Fri 11/1/2019 #543
Sat 11/2/2019 #521
Sun 11/3/2019 #504
Mon 11/4/2019 #455? (Wow!? Was #472 in early afternoon, rechecked at 6 p.m.)

Re: PG Offline users #pgoffline

All of the email addresses are in the zipped file I got from Yahoo and opened with MailDex 2020. They are in the mbox files they send you.?

I am just a regular member of the group - not even a moderator and now I have all the email addresses, even though the member list is hidden from me in the Yahoo Group website.

Just an FYI if you are trying to harvest email addresses for your groups.

His response to me was very prompt.

Have you checked your Spam folder?

Re: Q about finding a particular member

Tried search on partial string and it works. Thanks for pointing it out.

That isn't strictly necessary, or shouldn't be.? Just a "partial" of the address before the @ will find any match. (It will also work on addresses that have something personal after the @ but they are less common.)

I get the feeling that the original query was posed after a search on "Pending" members didn't produce any results; as Duane pointed out the search needs to be done on "Members".

Re: Personalgroupware (PG Offline)

Alex,

I just need the license key... you can't just buy one off of his web
page, you have to message him and then he sends you a invoice via
Paypal Tried BOTH emails... nothing in over a week.
I assume you included your Unique Code? Without that he can't/won't generate a license key:

Trying again from a different email account
That's probably a good idea, in case the one was blocking his replies to you.

Maybe you can track him down in their forum...

Re: "Average Pace" of transfers

Slowly but surely we will all get there. I am at the 744 groups ahead of me. I'm OK with that. At least it will happen!?

Re: The Hashtags feature is part of which plan?

Yes, thanks Bruce and Duane. David. *what*?? LOL It went right over me. I think I will just leave my settings as they are. I mean if people want to use them, knock yourself out. I just left it on the messages can be tagged with new hashtags.
Thank you!!

Susan

Well, there doesn't need to be ONE correct one. The person will probably want to include them all.

I'll check on that. The person in charge of my Yahoo group is looking at getting someone else to do it and told me just drop it.

Lisa -- The archive is exported in mbox format. It is readable using any text editor, but not is very friendly. I believe you can open it in Thunderbird and a few other desktop email clients, but have not actually tried it.

2. ?If our ?io,groups members want to just use the service to send from and receive in their email program, is that possible, or do users have to use the web interface?
If all you want to do is communicate by email, it is not necessary to ever log into the groups.io web interface.

3. ?If we use the io.groups migration service year one, I understand the annual fee is $220. ?Then can we go back to free in subsequent years?
Yes, assuming that after that one-year period your group storage remains under the 1GB allocation available to Basic groups. Otherwise at that point you will find yourself unable to upload any further such content to the group.

Bruce

Newly transferred. So far, groups.io seems excellent

I just got up and running on my group early this AM and want to find a particular member and not finding out how and where to look them up.

I go to members under Admin and only have one pending approval. Tried entering info on member address in search box with and without % at the end like Yahoo but that did not bring them up.

Tried looking under Directory and get boxes for each member with picture icon, name and button to email but that is totally useless with almost 1300 members to track someone down.

Thanks

Re: To spend more $$$ we need more data on rate of que processing?

I had to move two groups and one has moved even though it took about 10 days. Done perfectly.
The second one is in queue and moving forward slowly.
The slow speed is obviously due to expedited move requests.
We have to understand that the additional fees is to provide expedited service and many who chose are quite happy.
Yahoo group email distribution is still working. December 14 is the drop dead date for losing archived messages, photos and other files.
Mark has promised to get all requests received by Dec 1 to accomplish the transfer.
And GIO is working hard to address the crunch.
Let us have some patience.

Happy customer!

This too will pass, although sometimes things pass like a kidney stone. I encourage more people who complete this Easy[?] Group Transfer process to continue to come here and report their satisfaction with how things went.?
