Hello,
I searched but couldn't find an answer to this problem. I have a group member whose messages have been bouncing. I asked her to log in and change her email address (she can receive messages from me, but not from Groups.io) but she replied that she can't. She forgot her password and the reset email bounces! She did request this: If you could forward me one of the bounced emails then I can share that with the?company that hosts our [domain].? We already?opened a ticket to fix the problem but they didn't find one!? So more info would help.My questions: 1. Is it possible to forward her a bounced email as she requests? 2. What is the best way to resolve the problem of her not receiving emails? Thanks! Su |

Richard, As Leeni said all the answers are NO. I'm skeptical, in both cases. So I changed the setting to the first selection, Use Group Moderation setting. Irrelevant to this concern. I've only partially completed the wiki page on Message Moderation, but the section on Member and Integration controls (paragraph under the bullet list) may help. If not, ask for clarification. I think I did the same thing -- renamed my group.? And now I can't access it under either name.? ?
There are a couple possibilities. One is that the page you're using to access it is in your browser cache with the old link in it. Ctrl+F5 should fix that (if it is a Groups.io page, and not something placed on an external web site using code from the Promote page or otherwise).

The other applies only if you changed the subdomain name (to the right of the @ sign) of a group with subgroups. In this case it can take a while for that change to propagate through the DNS network to reach your browser.

I don't think there's any Groups.io approval required for name changes. Only group creation.
But the weird thing is that my yahoo calendar and iCal on iPhone are still showing me the group's calendar entries (though the times are off on full-day entries).? So that gives me hope that the group will come back. ?
Those calendars probably don't update immediately. You may need to re-connect them, I don't think there's a mechanism for them to automatically learn about a group address (name) change.

Leadership Team, My all day calendar entries are showing up on other platforms as 10am the day before, carrying over into 10am the correct day.? Mark has reported relating to the export of all day events. The interpretation of time zone information in the ICS format used may be inconsistent. This one in particular sounds similar to your issue:

Database secured to Moderators and Owners
Hello all,
I think this can be done. I just want to make sure before doing it. In the group I am Co-Owner, we are trying to come up with a way within Groups.io to keep a running list of the persons that insist upon deleting spam without moving it first to their inbox. We want to have a listing, along with how many times this has been done. I think, but want to find out for sure that it could be a database that would have access only to moderators and Owners. My all day calendar entries are showing up on other platforms as 10am the day before, carrying over into 10am the correct day.? Both when displayed into yahoo calendar and iCal on iPhone.? All are set to EST time zone.? The repeating entries that are specific times (i.e., 9am-3pm) are showing correctly in both places.? Only the all-day entries are off.
On the groups.io site they look fine, as full day (repeating) calendar entries. |

From Groups.io's point of view two different subscribed email addresses are registered as different accounts, notwithstanding that the same human might log into both of them. *Q3. Is there a way to get to the original posted email to try toIf the message is in the group's Messages still, a mod/owner can access the View Source item in the More menu to get the full header. That includes the original message's header, with only a few extra fields added by Groups.io at the top. If any member has it in their email interface they should be able to access the full header there. That will have a bunch of stuff relating to the message's journey from Groups.io to their interface at the top, but further down it will still include the records of the message's journey from the origin to Groups.io, with Received fields converted to X-Received. changing message settings
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯ve just got a new computer and am having trouble getting a message setting to stick. I prefer it have it set as ¡°Messages¡±, not ¡°Topics¡±, yet every few days I find that it has reverted to ¡°Topics¡±. How can I make ¡°Messages¡± the default and have it stay that? Thanks Win |

I have a member who "sent" one of those ("read the attached" type) mal-mails.?
I think his email account was hacked, or his contact list accessed and his sender address/account spoofed. He thinks it was a hack of GIO (his account info) and whoever then sent the mal-mail to the group. His account shows the original mal-mail msg was posted via email, not via the web GUI.? Naturally, we don't have access to the original email (OR DO WE???) so that I could look at the header info. Unrelated - He shows up 2x under members with 2 different addresses (*@infowest and *@gmail.) *Q1. Is there a way someone can hack a members info to send mal-mail thru GIO? *Q2. Looking at the 2 e-dresses -- am I in effect looking at two different users/accounts - that just happens to be the same person? *Q3. Is there a way to get to the original posted email to try to track down who and how it came to GIO and members? ANY other thing I haven't thought of to sort this out? Thx Ken |

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately, the other person I thought I had set up as an admin couldnt (when they set up an account just now) do anything so I cant have saved the setting when I set them up. Before contacting support.io I thought I would just try to log in under the account I thought that was deleted after combining the two...that account was still active so I was able to log back in using those credentials and make my second account an owner and also making the other person an owner and have checked to make sure I saved the options ..so looks like all OK. Thanks for helping out. John |
