It is not currently possible without forwarding or cut-and-paste or some other kludge.

My experience with using hashtags with "reply only to sender" set is that emails that I purposely returned to the group within the same thread were rejected with a 500 error. It seems reasonable to assume that if you manually changed this setting on an existing topic the replies would do the same, but I have not confirmed this behavior.? See??for the thread in beta in which this feature was introduced. ? Hope this helps, Bruce -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

Move messages from one group to another?
#messages
We have two groups; one paid and the other a freebee.? We would like to consolidate documents and messages into the paid group.? It was easy to port everything from Yahoo into these groups, but I'm not sure how to port from one Groups.io group to another.? Moving documents may be a bit tedious, but it seems straightforward.? The volume is large, but it's not huge.? But what about messages?? We have a LOT of messages going back to 2005.?
Is there a simple way to port messages (and maybe files etc.) from one independent Groups.io group to another? I looked for answers to this, but I can't find it discussed. Dave |

Someone else moved everything from Yahoo a few years ago and that is why we have this mess. They could have just moved a portion.

Re: Subscriber was removed for marking a message as spam?
David,
Size isn't the only factor. Age is also a factor, in two distinct ways. 1) An older service is more likely to have been noticed and whitelisted by more mailbox providers. 2) An older service (I'm looking at you, Yahoo Groups) is less likely to have implemented the relatively new standards for FBLs. So they may struggle with deliverability problems without any feedback from the receiving services as to why. Indeed, sporadic delivery problems is, and long has been, a perennial problem reported in Y!Group moderator forums.
I don't know that it is ONLY , but then I don't have contact with a lot of other vendors of email list services. Perhaps Groups.io is indeed rare or even unique in taking such an aggressively proactive approach to guarding its reputation as a spam-free service. override Attachments:Moderate setting
My group's Attachments setting is set to "Moderate", although posts are not moderated. However, we prefer messages with attachments from our moderators to be not moderated, so we don't need to approve our own postings.
I'd set each moderator's Posting Privileges setting to "Override: not moderated" hoping that it would help with our situation, but it didn't. Perhaps it's working as intended. Is there any workaround for this? Thank you. Lily |

If you run out of space, file and photo uploads will be disabled. I don't know what is done with attachments to incoming emails. There also appears to be some "grace storage." The people that I've helped with the "unable to upload" problem were usually up around 1.4 GB (instead of just 1 GB). The setting Leeni mentioned is helpful...to a point. For example, I don't think that old attachments are deleted in real time as more space is needed (for example, as you attempt to upload a file or photo). So there are some unknowns, at least on my end. If someone has actually tested these things please correct me if I'm mistaken. No, but there is a notification setting in your member record ("Email me when group storage limits are reached"). If I understand correctly, this notice is sent when you reach 80% of quota, so you have time to remedy the situation before actually running out (see?). But again, this is hearsay. If anyone has actually tested this, please confirm or correct. Regards, Bruce ? -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

That sounds like an alternate way that works. Do you lose functionality as you run out of space? We have a cooperative where we schedule dates, add files and I was trying to be proactive to not run out of space.?
?
Can I indicate a storage amount less than my total to tell it to delete when it gets that full? So if 10 gb is all I am allotted can I say delete after we fill 5 gb?

Unfortunately, this can't be done while it's pending. As Frances said, you can also do it with a hashtag.? You'd need to create the hashtag that you want to use, choosing the Reply To option you want.? Then you'd either need to train users to use it or apply it to the topic yourself.? Re: Subscriber was removed for marking a message as spam?

David,
? ? ? ? ? ?Juno is an email service provider.? ?Groups.io is not, it is an e-mail list management service (with a concurrent web interface). ? ? ? ? ? ?Email service providers, and only email service providers, decide what they will and will not do as far as central spam filtering.? The page referenced clearly, very clearly, states this and even gives a list (not definitive) of email service providers who are using the mechanisms that result in unwanted unsubscriptions, and why Groups.io must honor those "requests" or face even worse issues. -- Brian - Windows 10 Home, 64-Bit, Version 1803, Build 17134 ???? According to Wiki - SPAM Info? groups.io is? small and? "...is not too big to block."? I also use JUNO.com, which was one of the first FREE internet services, back when most internet groups had a charge, long before free Yahoo email. ? JUNO is one of the smallest email services and in the nearly decade of using it, NO subscriber was removed for marking a message as spam.? Why is this happening ONLY on groups.io? ? Wiki - SPAM Info? did not answer that. David |
