Re: Need to create a group to collect public opinion
But I don't want all kinds of specific questions that survey monkey is set up for (and indeed, SM wants to charge for comments, though you can get around that).? All I want is a way to receive

The method I gave was to prevent someone from joining the group just to get email addresses and doesn't apply here. Anyone that's a member of the group will see other member's email addresses in each

Re: How to stop address harvesting
Thanks Duane, I was afraid of that. We had a member get upset that several posts were rejected and decided to mail them out to the groups' personal e-mail. Technically can it be done and we are just

Only an owner can promote someone to owner.? Moderators may have permission to add more moderators, but it's not a given. Duane -- The official Groups.io user documentation is in the Groups.io Help

Re: How to find all current owners of a group
Thanks but that doesn't quite answer the question or I need to ask a slightly different question. When I log in to my group as moderator, I cannot promote someone else to owner. Why is that?

Re: How to stop address harvesting
No.? The closest you can get is to set the group to Restricted so that you'd need to approve every applicant and vet them before allowing admission.? Many use the Pending Subscription notice to ask

From the left hand side of the web UI click on *Members*. Then click on the *"blue tab"* above the list (I haven't named it because the default name can be one of two; Members or Pending ) and select

Re: Need to create a group to collect public opinion
+1 Our group needs a "suggestion box" subgroup where it's a send-only (sub)group. I can see how to set "allow posts by non-members" but how do I only allow owner/mods to see the post? Frank wrote: --

Thanks Duane. I can set "Allow non-members to post", but I don't see a setting that allows only owners/mods to have access. Any advice? Frank -- Frank Greco (t) @frankgreco <http://www.twitter.com>

Re: How do I allow direct subscription to a subgroup without requiring membership in parent group? #subgroups #subscription
In addition, when the Administrator receives a subscription request, it only mentions the main group and there is no way for the adminstrator to know what subgroup to add the person to.
