Re: odd behavior with Member Notices #invitation #membernotices
Malcomb's statement about people being reluctant to click on a link in an email is well taken.?Was there a reason for these folks to expect to receive an invitation, or did you just send them one out

Re: odd behavior with Member Notices #invitation #membernotices
I do add very specific text, bold even, to the invite so parents see it's legit. Here's my added invite text. Course it buried under the Groups.IO invite text. Would be nice to have our custom text

Re: odd behavior with Member Notices #invitation #membernotices
Good point, Malcolm. Perhaps we should edit the text of our invitation message. I might consider that for my own groups. Frances -- Help available from Groups.io help ( /helpcenter )

Re: Members sometimes only receiving replies, rather than original message
Check the Email Delivery History for any of those members.? More than likely, a message couldn't be delivered for some reason, but the reply came through fine.? Nothing a mod/owner can do, it's all

Members sometimes only receiving replies, rather than original message
Sometimes a member of my group does not receive an email sent to the group, but then does receive an email replying to that message, with the original message included. I remember this also happened

Re: Member can't access the group via web #issue

Re: odd behavior with Member Notices #invitation #membernotices
I believe that there is a third scenario - some folks have been taught so well (over-taught?) that they will never click on a link in an email and so go to the site to try to join from there. Malcolm.

Re: odd behavior with Member Notices #invitation #membernotices
You'll probably find that they didn't use the invitation, they applied on their own, so get the pending notice.? For some reason, a few folks get confused about accepting an invitation, though it

odd behavior with Member Notices #invitation #membernotices
Hello Group, I send out about 100 invites and I've now gotten two odd responses from members. They are responding to the "pending membership" notice.?Why are they getting the "pending membership"

Re: Member can't access the group via web #issue
You might ask her to click on her name in the upper right corner of the screen and tell you what email address shows up. It will most likely be different than the one you see if you look at her member

Member can't access the group via web #issue

Is there a setting to allow attachments in posts but not store them on the website?
I was wondering if I missed a setting somewhere that might allow me to allow attachments and pictures in posts but they wouldn't be stored on the website? Donald

Re: website group access restriction for specified members #permissions #listmanagement #access
Hi Jay, I had a main group with less than tech savvy people. Similar problem. We didn't want main group "non club" members accessing certain files. Previously we hadn't added "non club" members into

Re: website group access restriction for specified members #permissions #listmanagement #access
As others have said, there is no "almost a member" subscription status. At the same time, setting up a subgroup and moving all the sensitive stuff to it seems like real hassle just to accommodate a

Re: website group access restriction for specified members #permissions #listmanagement #access
If you have subgroups, the email address for the main group won't change if you add another subgroup. There will be no changes for members who aren't members of the subgroup. The "main" has already

Re: website group access restriction for specified members #permissions #listmanagement #access
Thanks for the idea... I'd thought of that previously, but I don't think it's feasible to re-arrange our entire structure due to the confusion it would cause with some of our less than tech-savvy
